EscapeOut - David S. Gallant - 48 Hour Competition Entry

Made in FlashDevelop with Flixel. It's your average Breakout clone. Or is it?

This is not only my first ever Ludum Dare entry, but also my first game coded from scratch. I've previously used Stencyl to develop game prototypes. EscapeOut itself is more prototype than game: given time, I could improve it by adding sounds, a timer, powerups, and better visual cues. Still, I'm very proud of what I've produced. I hope you enjoy.

I press 'w' and a message shows up: you escaped! is it supposed to do that?

Haha, this made me happy :D
I noticed at the beginning when I thought I'd lost that there is no way to lose...and it clicked in my head when the top layer turned out to be blocks. Very clever.

Ok, I almost why the hell you just made another generic breakout / arkanoid clone?... then I missed the ball... Good idea, points for innovation :)

This is the first game that actually made me smile. The "surprise" still feels weird to watch, it's breaking all the rules!

made me smile. great idea, took a tiny bit of working out (i was playing it like breakout) but an overall satisfying game.

Hitting W to win? Whoops! Left a debug function in the game :S

Marach - sorry about that, I'm a bad blogger and an even worse comment-checker. I'm not sure if it's too late to blog, but I will try.
