Ninja your way thru some bads. You can upgrade your character after you die and have another crack.
Left click attack and move. Space is escape!
I didn't add UI to show the costs so:
Damage costs 2.
Health costs 2.
Speed costs 4.
You can add and subtract without losing points to try different styles.
Hope you can find some time to play (and maybe vote on!) the game. I worked very hard on it. Didn't get everything in that I wanted, but with hindsight I'm quite happy with the result.
Misc:
Sorry about the windows-only. I think they are making an html-5 converter for these tho so maybe one day soon...
Excuses:
I went to a barbeque.
I was doing it all through an internet connection from a my phone.
I'm no good at Game Maker, even if it is designed for kids.
I have work tomorrow.
I am a massive noob.

Love the sketchy art style! Could do with a little more user feedback, I wasn't sure whether I had to keep clicking to hit or if picking an enemy once was enough. Like how you can level up after each failed attempt, quite addictive. Speed seemed pointless because the enemy come to you though.
Game Maker doesn't run in a virtual machine and it's unfortunate, because I like your visual style.
Hand drawn menus! YAY!! I really like the idea of upgrading your character when loosing. A bit more gameplay (e.g. levels) would have been nice.
Controls are pretty much awful. Neat art style, but difficult to play as your guy tries to run away instead of kill any of the 18 dudes on top of him I'm wildly clicking on.
Very nice artwork! It was satisfying to level up my character, it could have used more fleshing out all around (graphics, gameplay mechanics, the addition of sound) but overall I enjoyed this one, nice!
Thanks for the kind comments (and the *cough* gently worded feedback) everyone! It's much appreciated.
Summary so far: Everyone likes the artwork, whereas the code sort of sucks.
Funny stat: I'm a coder for a living D:
It's possible to decrease your stats to negative levels. I had a little fun with that (negative damage, negative health, etc)

...also I overslept this morning.
Wow the transparency really massacred that drawing.
