Plot:
You are SUBJECT:7. You don't know much about yourself. What you do know, is that you've been in captivity for as long as you can remember. You're being held against your will, and you're referred to as SUBJECT:7 by your captors.
How to play:
Move with the arrow keys. Other keys can be useful if stated in game.
Goal:
Find your way out. This means sneaking past guards, decieving guards, and taking the hard route out. Good luck.
Technical Details:
Written in C. Uses SDL, OpenGL and OpenAL. Graphics are made with GIMP. Sound effects are made with SFXR. The drumloops are made with Drumcircle (http://msm.runhello.com/?p=396).
Written and best tested under Linux. The Windows-version is known to work very well in wine.
Hoping to get a Mac-version built soon.

You're not the only guy stuck in that place - as I see this will be a frequent problem I've added a spoiler-file, http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1287557/LD48/LD21/HINTS.txt
Figured it out, and it all ran pretty smooth, except for some reason the menu graphics and text were all screwed up and repeating for some reason. Fairly mundane and functional, but worked smoothly and the lighting system was nicely executed.
@Hangedman; Is it the background-image that is broken on the menu, or is it the menu text as well?
What graphics card do you have?
Overall a very well rounded entry. There was some fake difficultly with the complete lack of explanation. Otherwise a pretty good entry with multiple sound tracks and a really dark maze.
Accidentally discovered the cheat to turn off the dark effect. I would enjoy if a longer version were made in the future.
I liked this. The light mechanic was a cool idea and the audio was great; but the difficulty is a little weird. For example, I could not find a donut, and because of that the two rooms I had gotten to were both useless to me (lockers and the hall-like place with two guards). I couldn't get further than those rooms.
This is the best entry I've played so far, congratulations! It was challenging, a little tricky, but still easy to grasp.
(Possible SPOILER) My only suggestion would be to make a certain item change your appearance (so that its effect is easy to predict).

A hint button would have been really nice here, since I don't know how I'm meant to use the first item (though I can see what item I need next, I just can't do anything to the guard next to it).
