Theme: It’s Dangerous to go Alone! Take this!
More Info: Ludum Dare 20 Has Begun! (Keynote), Theme Voting Results.
Was so tired when I first submitted this I didn't add a comment.
Didn't manage to finish as much as I wanted, wanted to get more levels in, add nicer tilesets, etc. Only got to add one sound effect :(
Also, think there is a bug on some machines where the levels are rendered black.
Was made from scratch in C++ with DXUT, Box2D, tinyXML & OpenAL.
Used Tiled (Which i now love :)) for level editing and the GIMP for all art. Used sfxr for the one sound.
Hope you find some enjoyment in it.
I'll be adding a link to the timelapse ASAP
Added:
Added Timelapse, link is up. music may be loud so watch your speaker volume. I Didn't blog much on my progress during the compo but I want to do a post mortem on the 48 hours but i need to escape the computer for a little while :). I'll prob link that post to here.
Added 2:
I believe I fixed the black screen bug, was a bit hard to repo the problem on my machine. If anyone has had this problem please try version 2. The version 2 zip also contains the original exe.

@Flyboy
Sorry, it was after the deadline when I found that bug. Hopefully the version 2 zip will fix that problem for you.
Fun physics-based gameplay. Sometimes the "springs" blocks were a little frustrating (not launching you high enough). Also, I took some time to realise you could double-jump.
Anyway, the game is really neat. And just so you know, it's working with Wine in Linux :)
Very nice idea. However the physics seemed wonky a bit. In stage three I suddenly couldn't make the jump up the pillar, even with double jump. The players collision box is way too big.
Nice entry - well done!
Also found the physics a bit frustrating, but still a good effort!
One suggestion I have is why do I need two different keys to pick up and throw the Bubba - one key that picks up if you don't have him and throws him if you do?

Uhhh, it didn't draw the background sprites. It was just a black screen with the characters and enemies.
