Tried running on OS X (10.4.11), got this error:
[JavaAppLauncher Error] CallStaticVoidMethod() threw an exception
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: Bad version number in .class file
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)
... etc. Not sure if it requires a newer version of Java or what.
Nice and polished. So far this has been the best themed game!
Well done
philomory: Ok, I think i know what that is, I've compiled it for 1.6 rather than 1.5.
I'll put up a new build later today.
Was fun/funny during the initial "tutorial" (which is pretty nice achievement since usually I hate anything which smells like a tutorial). But the levels of the actual game after that are quite tiresome to wander through.
Things I love:
- The room transition effect
- Character design / overall visual style
- Companion powers! (ICE WEASEL!)
- GAME OVER SCREEN
Things I didn't like:
- No Sound
- THOSE FRIGGIN FIRE TURRETS! GAAAAAAHHHH! KILLED ME SO MUCH!
Your LOW TECH time lapse was great, btw!
Ice Weasel was my first ever handle on the old BBS systems in the 80's. Crazy nostalgic moment, there.
Pretty cool take on the 'powers' progression player ability. Nice graphics, interesting setting.
A bit boring beyond the tutorial, but a neat concept. The transitions between rooms was extremely awesome.
Looks very nice, and starts out very good too. However after the tutorial things get tedious. I think the rooms are bit too big (or the player a tad to slow?).
Other than that, I dig the level transitions and the companion idea.

This game looks great, but it crashed after I tried to leave a room (the one with the guy who broke space-time). This was the Windows version btw:
