You're a lolcat. You must placate the zombies (spacebar), and dodge them (l/r or a/d). Watch out! You only have 9 lives! Last as long as you can.

Strange. But fun.

Sometimes my smiling zombie horde would desert me for no apparent reason. It also wasn't clear when your blood vomit attack would recharge.

After about five minutes, there were just too many evil incoming zombies for me to keep up.

Be sure to check out my postmortem for an analysis of what happened to this game:

What an odd game. It's kind of terrifying. Blood spewing cats, and zombies that look vaguely sexually aroused. The horror!

I liked the unusual resolution, and the gameplay seemed surprisingly balanced (I see things like 9 lives and I get the fear).

Okay that was a bit weird, but in a cool way. One of the more bizarre takes on the theme. I must say the cat animation and puke effects are awesome, and from reading your postmortem I think you're aware of what that's meant for the rest of the gameplay!

Unfortunately, the game itself is pretty bland. There's not really much to it. You go left and right and if a zombie's near you you press space, and eventually you die. It would have been nice to have a bit more variation in there.

Still, a great attempt, and seriously, the cat looks superb. Great to read your journal too. Everyone has to have a first time, and even seasoned veterans seem to struggle at these competitions. I suppose that's what makes them so exciting! My own entry is pretty ropey, and I was amazed how fast the time crept up on me!

So yeah, I can see you've learnt a lot from this experience, and I'm sure you'll come back to the next competition and pull out something awesome ;) I love the sense of humour behind the idea!

At one point a 2nd cat graphic appeared over top of me, playing the walk animation constantly.

The hit box for the barf didn't seem quite right, especially if you barf while walking.

A score would be nice.
I managed to crash it (list index out of range).

Ok then, I tried the game under Wine. It's... strange. Nice graphics, though I'm not fond of white backgrounds. Besides, same as everything that's been said before :). With more animation frames, the tiger would be great. However there's a problem with such a wide main character, when it turns it's a bit sudden (no turn-around animation), and the attack spot jumps a great distance from one side to the other, which makes it hard to hit nearby zombies. Unfortunately, adding a turn-around animation would only make things worse because it would increase the delay...

A cat that vomits blood on zombies to turn them... whoa. Well this one was pretty surreal. I played for awhile trying to see if there was much more to the game but I guess its just pretty minimal. It was really easy to just sorta sit there and occasionally puke on the zombies. There wasn't enough tension going on to really make it fun for very long. I liked the sketch style and the changing colors of the backgrounds though.

I love blood-puking lolcat. Gameplay kind of lost me, though. Took me a while to figure out that the zombies started smiling when puked on (making the cause-effect more obvious there somehow would be nice), especially because the collision detection there seemed a bit wonky. Nice surrealism here, though. And good blogging.

The sun is cute. Why you made the lolcat puke blood, I may never know. The movement code seems a bit buggy, and the landscape seems to move really fast even though compared to the zombies you don't seem to be moving a lot. Other than that, I guess it's a game. A pretty basic one, but it does utilize the theme. Maybe you could have done something more with the lolcat idea. Just have it say silly lolcat things or something at least. ;-)
