Attack Of The Weapons

by xeon06 - Competition Entry

As I submit this, there are still 20 hours left to the competition, but I just don't think I'll be able to do any work nor upload it tomorrow. If I do, I'll be sure to add sounds and maybe some other weapons before the deadline. There currently is about 12 actual hours of work in this. As usual, wish I had more free time the weekend. Probably be taking off for the next LD.

I decided to take the theme quite litteraly. As such, the enemies are the weapons. Like, litteraly. They're weapons. And they're shooting at you. Thing is, you are a weapon too! Shoot back at em using the mouse. Move with WASD. Action (swap weapons, go down stairs) with spacebar. The goal is to get to the very bottom of the bottomless dungeon. Find the stairs on each randomly generated level to the next!

When I try to run the exe it says "Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application." I assume that means I need one of the .NET Frameworks, but I don't know which.

You need .NET Framework 4.

Would have been very nice to have a standalone that didn't need me to install .NET.

Didn't think the theme was covered in a very interesting way, though it was within the interpretation. Random levels, however is a boon, though didn't slog through a lot of them to see how different they actually were.

At first I thought, "not another 'weapons as enemies' game", but I guess you kinda had it both ways. Not sure the game was that interesting, but the gun graphics are nice.

Grr at .NET dependencies. But an amusing take on the theme, nonetheless.

It'd be nice if you posted a link to the dependencies... :)
