Welcome to this Creepy Dungeon!

You are an occultist in a quest to get the coveted Necronomicon from the heart of a labyrinthine dungeon... a dungeon that is alive. The corridors breathe, the rooms move... the dungeon shapeshifts while you explore its most deep secrets.

Find the Necronomicon in this constantly shape-changing dungeon and find the exit before something catches you, taking you to your certain death.

Use WASD or arrow keys + Mouse to move around.
Left click to draw breadcrumb signs on the wall (with your lipstick, because yeah, you're a girl).

Music and graphics are very good, but that camera bounce when walking made me motion sick, so i stayed i one place and drew things on walls with lipstick. 10/10 would puke again.

No but.. Nice little game! Didn't think that I would get the book. Just as I was about to quit, suddenly *book*! :D
Got out in time too!

I really like the soundtrack!

Overall the game was kind of boring tbh. The mood really did it for me though; the flavor text, soundtrack and graphics.

Hope you had a fun time making the game =)

Thanks for your thoughts, @glaze_96 :) I'm glad you got to the end!

I realized that the game can get to a boring point after a while, but it was too late to try to fix it. :(
I guess the game needs some interactivity and more things going on while the player is exploring the dungeon, looking for the book. I'll work on that on my post-LD version.

Awesome! Took me a couple of tries to beat it, felt a little too random and quite luck based, but I could be wrong, the clip clop was getting to me.

Good compo !
I got eaten before exiting :( quite fun, nice details and feel.
Lipstick gave me the impression I was getting mad, like in the movie Cube or something.
Will play post LD version !
(also, I went through something it was like a wall but looks like a monster body part, maybe I wasn't supposed to try to go through ?)

Yeah, you were actually supposed to go through that body part. I tried to add some cloth physics to make it more obvious but I don't know why I didn't get the desired visual effect and it ended looking as if you were just going through a pink wall.

Honestly I got bored while playing it, but I am amazed with the way you have done the graphics. There is a lot of chance to extend it, though. Good luck :)

The game surely created a tension and was interesting to play through fully. I expected to be jumpscared or chased at some point. However i personally think that the music dont really fit the atmosphere the game created.

Good stuff, the look and feel is great and you can dive straight into the gameplay. It's nice sometimes to not have to master complicated controls or mechanics.

As you've said in another comment, the game could gain from more interactivity and if the body parts could give more feedback (heart pulsating, ribs shaking), it would make their discovery more satisfying.

Thanks for the feedback, @SeaMonsterGD. I have to say that I tried to add animations to the body parts. I had a pounding heart, but I wasn't able to import it properly into Unity, and decided that I had to use my time to more important parts of the game. I will do that in the future, for sure. :)

Really really good game! graphics were great, the walking mechanism was wonderful, and the soundtrack was good as well. It definitely gave me the chills (I'm extremely easily scared). I got the book... but completely forgot my way out. I was so scared of the giant lizard eyes...
It took me a little to realize how this fits with the theme, so that could have been more sought out.
Overall it was a great game! I hope I had more time in the end to run for my life... Lemme go try again lol.

The lizard eyes though. Too scary. ;)

Very atmospheric, games like this always end up creeping me out. The red messages and sound effects kept me tense, waiting for some jump scare that didn't come, making it even more tense. Completely surprised by the book at the end, and the exit I ended up taking. Not sure if all my lipstick marks helped at all, if I just got really lucky.

Man, that was awesome! I loved the tone of the game, I'm kind of a weenie, so it was super scary, even though I knew there were no enemies. Great job, you created a really cool, esoteric, eerie game that was actually quite challenging. I loved it!

That was pretty enjoyable! I love exploring 3d spaces, and the shifting and lipstick mechanics were clever. I found that the game became a little grind-y later on, as I couldn't get beyond the secion(s) after the bridge, so I ended up running around rechecking everything over and over, which always breaks the suspense in these games a little bit. I know the idea is to feel lost, but the tension wile playing the game can break quite quickly this way (spotting the eye for example - spooky as hell at first, but after running by it for the 5th time, it lost it's edge :P )

I really enjoyed your graphics and mood, though there were a few things that diminished it slightly. Text popups like "heavy breathing" take away a little from the sound of the heavy breathing. You could've probably darkened things a little too, if you wanted a little more of that fear factor. Lastly, I really enjoyed the music track, but didn't really feel like it quite fitted into the game. A little too upbeat in places.

In any case, sorry for the stream of consciousness here, but I enjoy these kinds of exploration games, Good job!

@Jimjam, I am aware of some of those things, and I will definitely have your feedback in mind when I work on my post-LD version. Regarding the music, I wasn't fully convinced, but that was the best track that I could get from I didn't want to leave the game without any background music. :P Also, I think the music should change to a tense-chasing mood when you get the book and the countdown starts... but 48 hours are 48 hours

I like the music, sound effect and graphics a lot.
I fall from the map two times, and the camera shacke was a little weird for me, but great mood and atmosphere, and nice style overall!
Love the idea of exploring 3d changing spaces.

Cool ! The nice looking graphics make a perfect atmosphere and the sound is sober but effective. We like what you did with the theme ! Your game is absorbing and well made. We'll try to get away with the necronomicon again for we got eaten everytime ...

I was expecting some danger, but the idea of a labyrinth that changes is neat. Not sure how the lipstick was supposed to help me, but fun nonetheless!

Great Mood and art. I got very lost! The lipstick mechanic was very cool and I enjoyed marking out where things were.

The camera shake is a lot but I would not change it because it adds to the mood!

Covered the walls in lipstick, couldn't find the book. Creative use of the theme. Made it feel a bit like the "Inside Jabu Jabu's Belly" stage from Zelda 64. Well done.

Mini Submission FAQ

TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.

CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.

If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.

CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.

CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.

PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).

MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.

MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs ( and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.

NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
