I - Insect = Gives flight, medium regen on both. Detectable, but hard
G - Grass = Gives complete undetectability, medium regen on both. Undetectable

T - Tiger = Can Attack, meh jump, Extremely high speed, Highly Detectable
Your Objective is to take a Light, obtain it, and return to your portal.

WASD - Move
1 - Shapeshift into Log
2 - Shapeshift into Insect

Game doesn't seem to work at all, for me. I can't move, and the GUI is outside of the screen.
@Dooskington
Did you read the tutorial? And sorry for the GUI bug, its that the Web version doesn't work for my game, I will remove it.
mac version wont launch. It believes the untared file is corrected.
:(
Great 8 bit music. I also like the terraria like feel.
It's a lot of instructions to absorb all at once. There's a lot of controls and forms etc that all come at you right away. Ideally, if you had had more time, I would have loved to see thing introduced gradually. But I know it's just 48 hours. :-)
I had trouble figuring out what "light" looked like, since there was "light" everywhere: in the campfire, the torches, those flaming fireball things. An image would have been helpful, or maybe call it "Glowing White Orb" or something so it's less confusing.
I also saw a bug on the 2nd floor of the building over to the right, a human was walking through the wall and out to the outside. Looked like he was just on a path that didn't pay attention to collision/gravity.
Great menu screen, always a nice touch!
Nice work!
I think I pretty much skipped most of your game by taking some secret passage... which is nice. I like secrets. Sneaky sneaky.
Somehow working on Linux, but the screen is annoyingly flickering. (this may be an issue of my machine, not your game, though)
Had a lot of trouble getting to the light. Always getting caught by the blue fireballs. Eventually I got there and was able to get back on my first try! Have to agree with @QuexD that fly was 2 OP
This is pretty cool. Was a little lost until I did the tutorial, but then it was all good. The detection mechanic on the eyes is really awesome, with the ring. Great work
I liked it! The graphics are really good, and the music - while a bit repetitive after a while - is quite well done. I didn't get quite far, but I might give this another go after work today. :)
Good game, but you need to read the tutorial. I like the Insect and the Idea
It was actually rather fun the game, and the graphics were very nice :)
Just noticed a bug in my game: If you are within the radius of an Eye and you just click, it dies. Hmm. Actually, Lets keep that. ITS NOT A BUG :3 Also, try and post your time for getting the light down here. Try and beat my best :D
I like the game. Pretty cool shapeshifts and a matching name. I experienced a bug where I just flied into the building in the first level and everyone was floating around instead of on the floor. Other than that, music was repetitive but nice. Graphics were really good, especially the animations are cool. Pretty good game man. I like it, good job!
Nice graphics and animation, and neat mechanics with the various shape shifting forms. The music was a bit repetitive though.
Super fun!! For sure I would play some more levels. Congratulations!
Fantastic game, reallly love the different forms and how you can use them. The enemies seem to be buggy unfortunately and love to walk through walls :D
Solid all around. Found the secret way to bypass most of the game.
This was fun.*nods* I really liked the different things you could turn into. I did find it difficult to figure out what light I was suppose to get. Perhaps this is something you could put in the tutorial to show the player what he is actually looking for. Other than that I really enjoyed this game.
Interesting choice of forms, at least they are not like in all the other games. :) The tutorial is a bit too long, and giving so many abilites and things to look for at once is a serious stopping power on players. I'd recommend to add tutorial step by step, and raise the challenge accordingly. Other than a few physics bug the game is quite solid. Well done!
Definitely a lot to grasp in a short amount of time. Love the graphics! Concept is great.
Excellent music and graphics. I love how the fly is just 3 pixels!
It took a long time to figure out each forms strengths and weaknesses. Other than that, I liked the graphics/lighting. Great job! :)
REally nice game, I was actually trying to go fast. I liked the tutorial and the overall idea. Congrats!
Very cool take on the theme and execution. Used the new Windows version and worked no problem.
It was rough at first to get all the mechanics and how they worked together but once that was done, it become a bit too easy though I haven't yet finished it.
Minor grip: no way to turn music off (and keep the sound effect). Got annoying quickly.
Otherwise, very nice entry!
I love the music and graphics, they give it a great feel. Maybe try to spend a little more time on the physics next time?
By the way, you can delete the ".pdb" files from your windows upload. They're not necessary and just increase the download size immensely.
@qu2 Thanks, I never knew that! And yes, the physics were wonky :P
Good game, had to reduce volume after a while, but hey I made worst soundtrack, nice design :)
hello! The Mac version appears to have broken the controls, as I couldn't really move the character in any way. I would love to properly play your game, so if you can take a look at it, it would be awesome.
Also, if you are interested in my entry, it is in my team mate's account, and you can play it here:
http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-35/?action=preview&uid=87729
The graphics for this game were simple but the lighting effects made them really shine! Transforming into the different types of things was tough for me, but proved to be pretty interesting once I got the hang of it. Very nice entry!
I read your blog post, I think it's great you made something you're super proud of.
Shoot, I really wanted to try this one but I can't move anywhere or do anything! Tried endless and play mode. I never see a tutorial pop up or anything.
A lot of nice ideas here but very confusing to start with. If the player got to start as the human they would understand movement before having to mash buttons to learn the shift. Even a single prompt for "Change into human" would help. Lovely visuals and great audio tho. Nice stuff.
Man, do the eyes never stop chasing you? Once i found the tunnel it was pretty simple, never felt the need to shapeshift from insect form unless an eye was chasing me. I see potential in the idea with some more intricate level design. Nice work!
@NightShadow0 First thanks for playing my game! The eyes stop once you kill them in Tiger mode or exit their radius.
You got me with the "advanced controls". I really like when games allows its mechanics to interact with each other, leading to interesting new mechanics. That said, grass slide is too OP (not a bad thing, though).
The game is quite good!
Graphics are simple, but well done and with a consistent style. I also liked the chiptune-ish sounds!
The main mechanic, of switching forms, felt too overwhelming. You are introduced to all forms at once and must memorize what each should be used for...
I ended up using only tiger+grass for horizontal movement and fly whenever I needed vertical movement.
Perhaps if you had made more levels, introducing a new form each level... don't know.
Great job!
@GJM
What you said is actually really cool, I never thought of it myself. I was going to revamp the tutorial, but know I am going to introduce level by level! Thanks so much!
Nice graphics, great game! I included it in my video compilation series of Ludum Dare games, if you’d like to check them out :) https://youtu.be/_jtEhCyw5p8
It all feels nicely coherent for a compo-game :-)
Always good to see a working tutorial as well (though I managed to die in it, but that's on me).
From reading the comments (and between the lines in the description): Your approach to bugs also brings a smile to my face: 'Does it give the player any sort of advantage? Then it's not a bug!' :-)
I'm just missing some sound-FX (and/or visual) on being hit, that would help a lot, I think!
[spoilers]
Is the tunnel-route supposed to be that easy compared to the above-ground one?
@rburema
THanks for rating/giving a detailed comment xD
Yes, I forgot to put particles/sound logic for when the player is hit, there actually is a sound for it though.
Also, the tunnel was a little interesting, because I put it there to be an alternate route thinking there would by 3, the sky, mainland, and underground.
It is too easy though. Again, thanks!

Mini Submission FAQ
TEAMS: Teams entering the Jam should pick a single representative to submit your game, or create a team specific account you can share. We currently do not support Team Voting, but sharing an account and together playing and rating games is acceptable.
CAN I ENTER BOTH EVENTS?: You should pick 1 event, whichever you think it’ll do better in. If the idea is strong, and everything plays well enough, you can go Compo. If you’re a perfectionist, and would prefer people to play a more polished game, do the Jam. Historically, more games are entered in the Compo, but with more people and more time, Jam games have the potential to be better (that doesn’t mean they are). Many solo participants do enter the Jam.
If you made 2 games, unfortunately, the website doesn’t support multiple submissions per user. To submit your 2nd game, you will have to make a 2nd account. Only do this if you made 2 games. Alternatively, if one game is better than the other, then consider just entering the better game.
CAN I KEEP WORKING UNTIL THE DEADLINE?: Yes! Immediately after the 48 or 72 hours, we do something called Submission Hour. As the name suggests, it’s an extra hour for you to package, upload, and submit your games. If there were catastrophic issues trying submitting your game, or you misunderstood how submissions work, that’s okay. It happens. We’re flexible. If you need advice, check with the folks on IRC. If you need an admin, get in touch.
CAN I KEEP WORKING ON MY GAME?: Oh definitely! You should! But for the sake of judging, keep the Compo or Jam version around. You can include a link to the Post-Compo/Post-Jam version of your game on your games page, but sure your main links are the original version.
PORTS: Ports to other platforms can be done after the deadline. That said, the sooner you finish your port, the sooner people can play your game, improving your chances of placing in the final results. For best results, provide a Web version of your game, or a Windows version with no dependencies. Also be sure to rate at least 20 games to improve your visibility (Coolness).
MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO: We allow you to fix crashes, win condition, or tiny bugs after the deadline. In a sense, this is like “porting” to support more players. We leave this open to interpretation, but generally speaking your game should be identical to the game you submitted. No new features, just fixing mistakes you should have caught had you been better rested.
MY GAME DOESN’T SHOW UP: If you can’t find your game, it’s usually because the URL to your downloads are missing ‘http://‘. Fix your URLs (http://mysite.com/mygame.zip) and you will show up. Alternatively, if you just posted it, wait a minute. The cache may not have refreshed yet.
NOT LOGGED IN?: If you get a message about not being logged in, even though you are, it’s because your web browser cached the non-logged in page. You can fix this by either refreshing your cache or clearing your cache. CTRL+F5 in many browsers. Chrome is a bit more work. Press F12 to enable Developer Mode, then you can right click on the refresh button and select “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. This option is unavailable if you are not in Developer Mode.
Source and Web coming soon. Source is uploading right now, web buggy.
