December 16th-19th 2011 :: Theme: Alone
The game by default starts in windowed mode. To use full screen, add a -full argument when running the game.
Linux executables: 32 an 64 bit
Windows: 32 bit only
The aim is to get to the exit (some ladder), before your light runs out and you get killed by a shifter.
Shifters are the mennacing creatures that turn into statues when you can see them, but move around, picking things up when you can't.
You must collect oil lamps to stay alive.
You may need to find buttons to lower some coloured walls.
Controls:
UP move up-right
LEFT move up-left
RIGHT move down-right
DOWN move down-left
ESCAPE quit
Make sure to try the executables with "o3" in the name, as they are optimised and will run MUCH faster!
I've removed the unoptimised executables, as these seem to be causing confusion.

I found this game quite challenging to play, but the idea was pretty unique and it was quite fun. It was strange how two exes were provided. The one where the oil lamp goes down slower has really unresponsive controls, making it impossible to play. I didn't manage to make it to the end ladder, but I gave it a good number of goes. It would have been nice to have some UI inside the game exe.
Overall, good job!
one of the exe is too slow, and I dont have enough time on the other to active the green switch and come back before my oil runs out :-/
The idea of the lamp-oil it's good but the controls are not so good, so the game its kinda frustrating.
Hm...I think the oil runs out too fast, and the controls are a little difficult with having to mash buttons to move. The visual ambiance is nice, though.
Graphics are interesting. Player's light-source disappears too quickly, making this very difficult to play.
Sorry, I was unable to play the game because the oil ran out too quickly. Maybe this would have worked better if the oil ran out constantly only when you walked, making it more turn based.

Make sure to try either "alone32o3" for Linux x86, "alone64o3" for Linux x86_64, or "aloneo3.exe" for Windows 32 bit, as these are optimised and create a HUGE PERFORMANCE BOOST!
