Dude, Stop – We are on Steam!

Aeons ago we participated in Ludum Dare 33 (themed “You are the monster”) and in about 14 hours or so we made a small game called “Dude, Stop”. We were late, everything was rushed, it had no menu or UI, no music and just two sounds. Nonetheless, we received a lot of positive feedback and decided to expand the concept a little bit…

And now *drumroll* we’re finally on Steam Store! The dream is coming true!.. Well, coming true soon, since the game is still not finished. It’s actually funny – the initial prototype took 14 hours to make and the full game isn’t complete after one and a half years. It’s all just a pile of puzzles. Glorious, wonderful puzzles!

Anyway, this is just an encouragement for other Ludum Dare participants – don’t be afraid to take your rushed mess of a game and flesh it out into a complete game! The community is really good at showing, whether or not your games are fun, and telling you where the problems are. You guys are awesome.

Better late than never

My goal for this year’s October Challenge was to port Drone Invaders to iOS and earn $1 on the App Store.

Drone Invaders was built in 2013 October Challenge for Android. The game got a lot of attention and managed to earn about $90 since the release. Although there were 3500+ players, the main problem for monetization was that the game was free to play and I didn’t really build it to be a money milking machine like “popular” mobile games do. I wanted the game to be fun and challenging and payment to be completely optional. The result is $90 in two years, but nevermind.

Drone Invaders from Space

For iOS, I still didn’t want to change the way the game plays, but I decided to ditch the IAP idea completely and remove all the payments from the game. But how would I pass the October Challenge then? I decided to price the game itself. It’s $1.99 in the AppStore and I have already earned the dollar and the player ratings have been great as well:

All this in about a week since the release. The game has already earned half of what the F2P Android version has in two years.

It’s possible that this YouTube review (over 2700 views) made all those people come in:

I think my next mobile game will be iOS-first.

My first EP just released on SoundCloud!!!

Hey guys! It’s me again! I’m Tanner Daniels, and I am 16 and a Dubstep producer. After a year and a half of tinkering with Dubstep Production, I’m finally ready to release my first EP!

Listen to This is Noobstep on SoundCloud

The reason for the title is I feel I have left the realm of typical Dubstep, and evolved my style into something different. I call it Noobstep. The reason for calling it Noobstep, is because I am not following the trends of popular culture, and some may consider it noob, but I have created Noobstep to defy popular culture and create music how I enjoy it. This EP features Insane breakdowns, sick bass growls, melodic rhythms, and beautiful patterns.

This EP was 6 months in the making, please give feedback. Negative feedback is better than no feedback, because I cannot grow without feedback. Please follow and support Noobstep, and thank you for giving me your time, unless you didn’t give me your time, in that case, no-thank you, you big jerk.

Thankyou guys so much. This community here has giving me so much support and encouragement! None of this would have been possible without you guys!

Perlin Noise in HTML5

A timelapse of myself implementing Perlin Noise in JavaScript. This only took me an hour or two (may have lost track of time) so I’m impressed with how easy it is to make a HTML5 canvas game. I will certainly use the language again in the future. I’ve messed with it before, but I have never come close to releasing a proper game. This may be the first step of many.

Hi there, a while ago a buddy and I made a 2-4 player party game called shotball. It’s a top down, physics based soccer game, but with guns! Unfortunatley, the game hasn’t been doing very well, not many people have downloaded it. It would be really awesome if more some more devs would get the game so that we could get some feedback. Thanks!

Check out Pendulum!

Wednesday, November 11th, 2015 9:44 am

I just wanted to show off my first published game called Pendulum. I don’t know if I will keep working on it though. The game was mostly just a test to see if I could get a game on the google play store. Rate it, play it and give some good feedback. Thanks :)

You play by tapping to change the direction of the pendulum. The Pendulum is used to hit the orbs back to where they came from. Don’t let the red orbs touch the blue goal and don’t let the blue orbs touch the red goal!
