Very great concept, and excellently balanced throughout. I had fun all the time even though it got pretty hard in places. The amount of backtracking was just right. Visuals look nice and the sound works well even if it's not spectacular. The ending was very efficient and fitting :)

Lovely indeed. Charming graphics, and simple yet fun gameplay. I thought it was maybe just a tad too long, but the level design did save it from getting repetitive.

Best LD14 game I've played so far! The way you create versatile and challenging gameplay with so few simple rules is simply genius. One minor point of criticism: the hitbox of Jane Danger could have been just a bit slimmer.

Bonus points for a cool psycho-optical effect: When you stare on the scrolling background for some minutes and then close the window, your screen will warp :)

Loved the sound! I was hooked as soon as I saw the intro screen. Graphics and gameplay were also awesome. The gameplay did a great job of making you scream in fear then allowing you to barely escape and get a second to recover.

ha! that was fun.
nice variation of the basic mechanics along the way. didn't get repeditive/boring at all. it has just the right length, and all fits well together... sweet little game!

I wasn't sure whether to compensate for your being a "big name" developer (relatively speaking), but I can't find it in me to. That was really very good.

Seriously retro looks, but the game works well. My only complaint was that Windows kept insisting on bringing up the "sticky keys" dialog when I pressed shift too many times, but other than that it's pretty fine.

Cool game with some absurd difficulty. The parts near the end where you had to hit 3 1-tile tall bits in a row just before being crushed (while standing on grey stairs) seemed like pure luck. I'm not sure what governs the 'reload' on your shovel, but sometimes she just doesn't dig that fast.

I had a great time playing this. So fun and polished I'm fairly amazed how you nail so many things in such a short time frame. The level is very well put together and I only noted a few areas that could have been tuned a bit better but no really complaints given the time constraints of course.

I enjoy the screen dimension bias, the animations and sounds, the game play is really fun and addictive. Thank you SO much for not making me restart. The first time I died I was pretty much assuming I would have to restart again but was so happy when I did not. The save points you picked were fairly sufficient yet not too easy to make it without challenge.

There were many excellent variations and additions of mechanics throughout the game which was very fun to see the ideas explored. Very polished too with nice touches like intro showing digging.. and that smiling character when she reached the gold but then you know what is coming when the wall takes it all away again! Then the outro where you dig to reveal your name.

Excellent work!

people who like my entry might enjoy this unofficial sequel a comrade of mine made using my source. it’s more of a puzzle game, often requiring planning and careful timing. it’s also a lot harder.

here‘s a version of tombed with two little changes: the blur is gone and the Z key and spacebar can be used instead of shift.
