Not bad! Although sometimes it seemed that it taxis would start off the wrong way and it'd be impossible to get them off the first tile.

I got stuck a few times, in a situation where a taxi was bouncing between two spaces, and I couldn't change either of the spaces, which I needed to do to get it somewhere else. Of course, that happened because I screwed up, but it was a sad place to end up!

Good puzzle, though. Got very tricky... I got to the first level with 4 cars, then when some got stuck I hit ESC to discover that is instant exit instead of retry.

This is a fun and pretty challenging puzzle game -- I really like the addition of the gas meters, they make sure that you have to be quick to discover the possible paths. Well done!

The pixel art is also very well done.

I had problems getting stuck between two tiles. It looked like the elbow titles would sometime let the taxi go straight instead of turning if they had just done a U-Turn.

I liked: Idea (disclosure: I started from the same base idea), the twist having two vehicles, gameplay, fun

Could improve on: Graphics, presentation, getting-stuck-issues

This is definetly a game to develop further, already fun in the present state

Interesting game, and moderately fun :)

I had two main issues: 1) the window size was too big for my screen, and I couldn't resize it, this rendered part of the bottom of the screen unviewable. As it turns out I didn't need to use it, as far in as I got, but it could have been a pretty major frustration.

2) In one of the levels there's a piece just beside one of the starting points that you have to rotate before the start timer ends (the first level to feature a yellow truck I think), otherwise you can't move it. That's a minor thing, but one that can be easily avoided, if you think it worth avoiding.

(I notice now that other people had the same problem...)

Anyway, I think it a pretty decent effort.

Very nice puzzle game, enjoyed this one a lot.

On the first look doesn't seem really interesting, but if you begin to play, it's really addictive.

Pause or longer startup delay would be nice for some of the levels. Sometimes the car enter a path which is blocked etc.

didn't think i was gonna like this or have the interest of playing but I am happy to say I was proved wrong! I played all the levels and won.. yippee.. ;)

a lot of fun. there are a good many different things going on as you play that make this a fun and cool idea. a lot more things then the screen shots do justice to. Nice work.. and yah another Gosu user! ;)

Crazy taxi puzzling game final 1.1…

Here is a little bugfix on the game – I did not intend to upload it at first, but here it is anyways, please dont vote based on this.

Fixed windows binary and updated source. you can click now :)

It updates the buggy taxi pathfinding, it now should not go crazy about deadends after curved roads. have fun with it 😉

In this action puzzler you have to get your taxis from their start points to their goals (tinted in the same color, also the taxis have a tinted arrow on top of them).

To do this, you have to rotate the tiles.

I have now about one hour left to fix the bugs left, then I have to call it a day. There were a few things that did not go as planned, but that has to wait till tomorrow, for now, here is my latest screenshot:

Thats it then: A halfway-done action-puzzler with half of the grapics not done, an ugly bug in its pathfinder and only 5 levels. Guess the only thing I do now is get a few more levels and thats it for this time, my first ld48 ever.

Alright, got a good 8 hours of sleep and starting the gameplay. Taxis now drive along the road, and can do a full 180. Now to get fuel, collisions and some goal implemented!

Oh, yes, and some food shot, too! This is my lunch:

So, its my first ludum dare ever! In front I was not quite sure if I should participate or not, and with the theme I hesitated even more. Guess I am in at last.

Started coding with OpenGL with no real idea in my head, but got a easy-to-make one in between. Scrapped a few hours of opengl-code because GL_SELECTION was giving me a headache – switched to gosu instead and till now I havent looked back!

My idea is a little puzzle game – you have to make a way for taxis that want to go from A to B, clicking on a tile rotates it. Taxis must not crash into each other, but the drivers are smart enough to do a 180 if they hit a dead end. No gameplay implemented, yet, but here is a early screen:
