Player looks like Luigi to me. Don\'t know if it was intended, but it scored a humour point.

Frimkron says ...

Nice graphics and a pretty solid platform engine. Well done!

DrPetter says ...

I beat it. Had some tricky parts, but was mostly straight-forward. Controls worked out nice, although it took me a while to figure out that running faster meant jumping higher. Ran a bit slow on my machine, but not annoyingly so. Cute graphics.

Entar says ...

Nice, would have benefited from some sounds and/or music.

Endurion says ...

For some reason it starts out jerking really really bad. It gets better once you collect enough diamonds though.

Notch says ...

Nice game, great graphics. There\'s no challenge, though.

Hamumu says ...

Not much gameplay and no challenge. But it\'s really nice looking and has good controls. If there were just something (called owls) that were trying to stop you from getting the gems, I think you\'d have something!

pansapiens says ...

Great graphics ... very clean. Good details on jumping animation. Playablity was decent .. (double jumping, etc). It's a platformer, in the least innovative sense. No sound ? Very loosely on theme ...
Love the way you fit time in for a quick game of chess during the timelapse :)

matrin says ...

Nice game. Ran a bit slow though.

edwardoka says ...

Nice graphics, nice gameplay. Needs sound effects, and an element of threat. (be it a timer, monsters, rising lava, etc)

Codexus says ...

Lol, it's so tiny on my 2560x1600 screen! Nice pixel art!

Deepflame says ...

Well polished, neatly done game. Although the others were complaining about a lack of monsters, I saw it as a collection of challenging jumps you could make at a leisurely pace. :P

jolle says ...

"It's me! Luigi! There sure is a lot of disposable treasure flying around in this tower!"

Standard platformer, but a bit sluggish. Nice gfx. Levels looped? Would prefer 'You won!'.

Morre says ...

The mario-inspired graphics are nothing short of brilliant - gameplay could've used a bit more polish. As it is now, the difficulty lies only in the controls; I'd have like obstacles or enemies instead. Ice to skid on, spikes to avoid, that sort of stuff.
Anyway, good stuff! :)

nilsf says ...

Really good graphics, but it lacked a proper end. Not a big challenge but quite enjoyable.

Treasure Tower post-LD fix

Some people wrote that my game was too slow, especially in the beginning of a level when there are many crystals. I found what was causing that and fixed it. Here is a new version:

I set up the game online so you can play it directly in your browser:

Here is my entry, it is playable (two levels and even a little title screen). I’ll set up a playable web version in a moment, but here is the source.

Main character

I just spent a long time drawing a main character for my game.

There are about 9.5 hours left and it’s going very slowly. I should probably forget about the graphics for now and try to get the game finished with concept art.

Anyway, I just had a pizza.

Slept too long!

I spent the entire evening and part of the night implementing basic object stuff (platform movement, object collision detection etc.), code I’ve written hundreds of times. Then I went to sleep and set the alarm clock for 4 hours, but woke up after 9! Oh well, I did sleep well.

The objects work nicely, I need to start making a lot of graphics now.

And I just had breakfast:

(btw, I ate the rest of those carrots yesterday)

I’m just back from a barbecue with the neighborhood. Well, now I don’t have to waste any time cooking. Back to work.

I just made some pea-soup for lunch.

First concept graphics

I’m going to make a platform game about climbing a huge tower, where each floor is a new level. I’m not sure how the gameplay will be, but here is my first little screen shot.

I just woke up and saw that the theme is “The Tower”. No idea what to make yet, but I’ll start with some breakfast: croissants and coffee.

Custom library for haXe

I just released some base code for writing 2D games in haXe (using Tile Studio for graphics), which I’m planning to use if the theme is suitable for making a Flash game.

This might also be useful for anyone who wants to get started with creating web games in haXe. I’ve included information on how to install everything.
