Ahh made me giggle, good marks on humor :) I discovered glitches that made the levels easy to complete, the drop guy was very useful, and the little jumper, last level I only needed 4 guys, the walker, little jumper and two droppers.

Pretty fun.. Still giggling at the sound effects. The (plentiful) bugs and UI weirdness dropped a bit of the score. Pieces falling through floors when they shouldn't, not falling when they should, moving to the counter-intuitive direction, starting action too soon/too late and so on made the game feel a bit less polished than it should be. Also the end of the level felt a bit weird. You wait and click and then realize you need to hit "Exit" to move to the menu to select a new level (latin for: "please make a next level button"). Overall pretty clever and fun. + the theme and (buggy) audio makes me smile every time =)

I love this one!! Awesome use of the theme, and really cool style, and really good puzzles to solve. I don't have complaints other than no next-level button (or click on the end-level tally to go to the level select) and bug things.

Specific problems I noted: Droppers don't drop if triggered by the original laugher, only by other laughers. Jumpers can jump right through the big blocker blocks (but not through other walls, so that seems quite wrong). If you put two guys on top of each other, usually one will fall through the world.

Reminded me of Eets, which I love. Perfect use of the theme and humor, and good puzzles. I didn't see any bugs either. Needs a next level button of course, and more levels, but well done.

I love the idea, and it's fun to play, but.. it's kinda creepy. Even before the guy that eats people, I mean. It's got this sense of impending doom, like there's some fundamental wrongness lurking beneath the surface of things. That's probably just me though.

Also, I don't like how you have to return to the main menu when completing a level in stead of just starting the next level right away. Also had some issues with things falling through the floor and such.

Other than that, I like it! It's a fun puzzle game. Well done =)

The game is very sweet, idea is peculiar but great. It works very well and has enough complexity to last for more than a few minutes. I guess there could have been more levels, but that's not to be expected in a timed compo like this. Maybe a level editor?
This game would probably have been all 5's if the laughing samples had been recorded from some genuinely hysterical/giggling person. It would have been truly infectious (for the player as well). I guess since the samples are exposed in the snd folder this is wide open for mods...

Ms Green’s lovely day – final

Ms green’s lovely day, that’s the name of the game.

The idea behind the game is that laugh is infectious and causes chain reactions. The aim of the game is to get the green lady somewhere in the level to laugh. You can make her laugh by touching her with some other laughing thing. You start by placing some of your units from the right of the screen (select by clicking, place by left click, remove by right click) and trying to make chains of laughter. By pressing the start button, you can see how your chain goes in action. The laughter chain always starts with the gray grinning thing (that looks more like an oven or something), so the first thing you place must touch that to get your chain started.

The game was coded with python and the sources are
included in the package too.

Graphics were drawn with GIMP and sound effects were done with DrPetters sfxr tool (great little thing!) and the laughters were done in Audacity. There is no music, that’s the only thing I would’ve liked to do too, but don’t have the energy.

So that’s it, go play and learn by playing. The entry is by no means perfect and is very unfinished in many ways, but I feel this is the best I could do in this time. So have fun!

I think the code, graphics and souds are just about final, few tweaks left maybe if I’ll bother. Added a particle effects for fun, just one. I just have to do a bunch of levels more and it should be ok. About 10 more should do it.

Score screen is completed. I think the game is graphically pretty much done. Phew. Just have to paint some alpha masks for a few characters and that’s it. Then I’ll have to start churning levels and tuning the gameplay.

I just HAD to make a food entry too, so I won’t get N/A in anything. So here goes, breakfast and lunch. :) Not much to tell, made rasberry+strawberry “soup”, (or something, my English is failing me here) that I made this morning and some bread. And lunch… argh! But it’s fast.

The game is coming along slowly. Sounds are done (horrible, had to make a disable sounds option to main menu :) ). Menus are done. Now I’m doing a screen at the end that shows your scores.

I’m up!

I’ve got the gameplay sorted and working, it’s not fun yet though. I’ve now begun touching up the graphics the best I can. That’ll take a good part of the next hours. After it looks ok, I’m thinking of adding some sort of scoring to the game. Then I have to do menus and such. Then some sound effects. And last, a bunch of levels. Plenty to do… Oh, and yeah. I’ll have to try to make it fun too at some point. :)

Level editor works now and the game can be played to finish with the first types of units that there are. So the aim here is to get the one sad guy with the hat to laugh, by starting a chain reaction of laughter through the level. You start by placing different kinds of units on the level and then press start to see what happens.

Ugly as hell, but I’m just a coder. I’ll have to work on that tomorrow.

A bit disappoitend about the theme (done so many times already in proper games), I was hoping for some time travelling. I’m not 100% sure about the gameplay of this one yet, but it involves platforming so I decided to start with a level editor which is about 50% done here. I’m coding it with python and pygame.

I hope 2/3 of entries are not explosion chain reactions…. because that’s just lazy.
