Hello everyone,

For a while now I’ve been reworking my first Ludum Dare entry called “Oh What a Night”, now called “Nonsense at Nightfall”.

I wanted to share my progress and how I improved the visuals. I’m quite happy with the result so far :)

I also made a FB page where I’ll be posting all about the game and any other project I’ll work on on the future. feel free to like/follow, it would mean a lot :)

I would love to join a team or group for a casual game  and contribute any way I can.  I guess I am mostly interested in doing some designs like for levels backgrounds / images / etc.  Below is a game I made years ago I built the entire thing and did all the artwork in the game besides any photographs and the south park neckbeard guy.  Anyway if anyone is interested I’d love to help!

Hi, a guy on gitter talked to me about ludum dare, i really like the idea, i want to do some game but i don’t have ideas neither motivation. i just want to know how this really works so i can join in a next edition.

What i need to do to join? do a post, like this one, saying “I’m in”?

How i submit? the same way as joining?

I don’t know if i can do a group to get into jam, but i’m pretty new on game making, can i participate individualy as a jam(to have the 72h)?

Also where i get the replies and how to vote on others projects?

Poll: What would be your ideal rating categories?

Posted by (twitter: @mkalamalami)

If you were to reinvent Ludum Dare, what rating categories would you pick?

We have a poll going on currently at Alakajam!, for a new 48-hour long competition held in between Ludum Dare events. Among the topics we’re trying to figure out, we’re wondering what would be a good improvement over the current rating  categories, which are as we speak: Overall, Graphics, Audio, Fun, Innovation, Theme, Mood & Humor.

If you have suggestions, make your voice heard by answering this quick form! Thanks for your contribution :)

EDIT: The submissions are now closed, thank you everyone! You can see the results over there. If you’re interested in joining us, the first competition will be held on the 22-24 September week-end, see you there!

BatteryUnknown’s PowerGrounds – an LD Multiplayer Game

Posted by (twitter: @_udo)

I finally had the time to put the timelapse up:

If you’re looking to play a quick multiplayer game with some friends, check it out:

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/batteryunknowns-powergrounds

What’s most amazing to me is that the hacked-together multiplayer server hasn’t crashed once since the game went live, serving more than 22 thousand player sessions I expected it to need more handholding or even bugfixing 😉 there have been some bugfixes on the client side (see changelog) but overall it’s been relatively smooth sailing.

I’ll put up a downloadable client and a downloadable server at some point, because I don’t want to leave behind a non-functioning shell after the judging period is over 😉

Limited Light (Tech Demo)

Lightning has struck the apartment building, all power is down. Descend into the basement to restore it.

I didn’t manage to make it into a proper game, that’s why it’s labeled “tech demo”. I hope it’s still a good start for something that could become a full game in the future.
