Randomly generated tales of lies and betrayal

Some stuff came up today, and I didn’t have time to do anything whatsoever with my game. So it doesn’t look like I’ll have anything for the jam tonight. Oh well :(

Here’s a final playable build, from what I had finished up last night! I decided to embrace that placeholder music and use the rest of the loops from the game it’s from, which, as it turns out, is kinda thematically similar to what I’ve got in mind.

Again, good luck to everyone racing to have something finished up tonight :)

Doesn’t look like I’m going to be ready to submit to either the compo or the jam, but I’ll keep working on this tomorrow and try to finish it up next week. Spent most of today working on battle stuff. I really like where this is going.

Good look to everyone rushing to submit something tonight!

Really happy with how this is coming along. I want to focus on story stuff tomorrow, so I’m going to try and get the basic game working completely today – which means moving onto the RPG stuff right away.

Here’s a playable build!

You can walk around and that’s pretty much it so far. Refresh to generate a new level if you start stuck in a wall.

I can now walk around my generated maps! This is coming together really quickly :)

My maze generator is starting to actually make interesting levels!

My idea is to make a dungeon crawler where you equip your defeated enemies. For example, defeating a Vampire allows you to equip his fangs, and so on.

Trying to make a simple 2d maze generator for my idea. This is about four hour’s work :(

I wanna make one too!

Really looking forward to Ludum Dare this weekend! Haven’t a clue what I’m going to make yet, or what I’ll end up using to make it.  I only really have one goal, this time:  I wanna do something somewhat technically challenging, for once. I’m thinking possibly some procedurally generated content, if I can shoehorn it into the theme somehow.

I’ll be taking part at the Cambridge meetup, so it should be good fun even it doesn’t work out :)

Finally, because everyone else was doing one: Here are my previous LD entries, including some games that I ended up developing after the original deadline:
