I only had around 10 hours due to unplanned circumstances, but I managed to create *something* in any case. I definitely wish I could have had time to create some clever levels or have a player shape editor or something like that, but the mechanics are solid and that’s good enough ^^

Will do a post-mortem tomorrow~

Two LD’s a few years ago, wasn’t able to participate once more until now. Since I seem to be the only one who hasn’t  touched Unity yet I’ll give it a go, my only regret being having to use Windows to develop. I’ll probably run into a lot of small annoyances but I expect to create some form of interactive modern art, of course. One more hour, 3am, let’s do this!

Follow Up Edit: Unity was too heavy for my laptop so I went to learn libGDX instead, then RL got in the way a few hours later and I ended up having a total of 3 hours or so in learning a new engine. Had I known I would have had so little time I might have made a quick JS game or so, perhaps next time…

Third time. I’ll be using Java, perhaps libgfx with the bullet engine if I manage to get either one working, otherwise I’ll fall back on my old basic applet.

Bfxr for the sounds, gimp for the ‘art’. Expect greatness!

Edit: ….and I’m out. Something came up, did not get any time on the weekend. Alas, I will try again =(

This will be my second time, #21 being my first one. I will be busy on Saturday and I’m on a slow laptop with an unnatural keyboard but I’ll definitely manage to make *something*.

I’ll be using pure Java without any libs. Here’s the tiny (tiny tiny) framework I have from last time.

Controls done and working (with scrolling background ^_^). I did it all from scratch and I’m amazed how far I’ve come in only three hours.

You have to control two spaceships, at the same time  (with a twist).

First Ludum Dare

I spontaneously decided to enter Ludum Dare #21 after waking up (that’s when I get the best ideas).

This is my first time and I hope to produce something playable, as well as having a lot of fun ^_^

I’ll be using Java, all from scratch. Probably my first mistake =p
