Hawker Dove – First Screeny

So, my idea stems from the evolutionary game theory game called Hawk Dove but naturally with a twist. I’ve modernised it in a war/military based game where you there is land to capture and capturing land, creates factories on that piece of land which in turn create more units for you. The ‘evolution’ is in the game world itself. After every turn the game world changes, land may sink, new landform may form and so on. Well that is the basic idea and here is the first look:

I’m doing pretty good right now, working on it for about 3 hours and have quite a bit done. Heres the summary of the game:

You are a cast away. Abandoned by your own. Thrown out for bringing the
cursed Jewel Of Lonesome back to your village. Now your only hope is to
retrieve the Jewel of Homesome, rumored to be at the Forgotten Mount, a
complex cave system that is empty and no one has returned back from. Do
you then, oh, young adventurer, want to risk your life to gain your own

Pretty simple right? Not sure what I’m going to do about the enemies but I’ll come up with something. Now to round of the post with some eye candy xD

Editor Suite For My Game

Well the graphics annoyed me so I started working on this. It may turn in an actual ‘suite’ but currently its just a map editor. Maps can be anywhere from 1×1 to 50×50 in size and there are currently two attributes; block and warp. Plan on adding more when I get some game plan sorted out. Anyways…here it is:

I’ve got an idea pretaining to mazes and possibly ghosts but yea…heres an early look at the character sprite, it probably won’t change as I don’t think I can do better xD

Not sure what I’m doing, just followed a link posted by a user over at touchofdeathforums. I’ve read the help guide, the compo idea seems interesting and eh….I’m in? I use VB6 and I know a bit of C++ but not much. So yea… ello people.
