I’m in for the Jam. I’m going to try doing this with a friend this time, goomplez on ldjam.com. We’re going to try using the Duality game engine and make… something. Looking forward to this weekend!

Yumaikas, the Jungle Coder tries a third time to make the Ultimate Game (aka, I’m in)
I’m in.
I’ll be using much of the same kit as LD34 again:
- Love2d+Lua for engine/scripting/haxxy codez
- Various libraries from rxi to make things easier
- Bosca Ceol for 8-bit music
- Bfxr for crunchy sound effects
- Paint.net for leet sprites
- Staying up too late due to time crunching
- Epic Inspirational Bots for ideas
I also wish PoV a good, restful break from running Ludum Dare.
(Any grandeur implied by my title is for humor purposes only)
I’m in, though I may not have much time depending on getting end of year school projects done.
Last ludum dare I did the very silly Omega Llama and got my feet wet with sound design and basic music for the first time. I aim to raise the production values a little this time, even if only by having 4 bars of music instead of 2. (Though 8 would be nice)
My planned kit:
- Love2d, reusing any relevant code from last year
- Bosca Ceol, since it makes ok sounding chiptunes easy
- bfxr for sound effects
- Paint.NET for graphics
I may take some time to learn how to use a spritesheet editor.
Edit:
I wasn’t able to swing working in Ludum Dare with finishing my school projects.
I’m working with Love2D
I had wanted to make a game about using a hookshot and gun to gather a giant ball of rope and climb to the stars.
The hookshot is just a line, and the gun fires off projectiles as large as the player (that little blue circle)
So far I have this:
TODO:
- Collisions against enemies
- Camera of some sort.
- Also, some kind of art….
Yumaikas, the JungleCoder, reports for the game jam
I’m in, and looking forward to the game jam this weekend.
