Failure at all levels. [POST-MORTEM…?]

I failed this year. Horribly. On every possible aspect. I ran the engine and stared at the screen thinking “What the hay am I supposed to do?”. My eyes went back and forth between the theme and my code. I was confused. Then I decided to close Code::Blocks and open paint to design how the game could look. I’ve had a few ideas of which none were good. At this point I started to panic. Then it turned out I have to visit my grandma since it was her name-day the day before. I surrendered, the theme won. I’m ashamed of myself. But hey! I started to do some finicky art and got my onw style, so I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.

I see people doing those posts already. And it was just August like a week ago. Huh. Time’s a weird thing. Anyways, here is a list of utensils:

I had so much great fun doing that one. I also polished my skills a whole lot. I hope my entry will be welcomed with great feedback and I also hope it works for most of you. I had many problems running OGL applications on my friends PC, hence the concern.

I’m already waiting for another Ludum Dare 😀

I is growing rapidly I must say. I only have content to create now, tho that might be annoying, so I’ll probably just go endless-mode 😛 As of now the thing is quite buggy, they pop out in the least predictable places. But here is a screenshot 😀Ludum Dare 30The whole idea behind this one is “The world has merged with the underworld, releasing evil spirits who yadda yadda. You get the point 😉

It consists of: Main lame loop, Event handling, Soundbank, Texture handling, Animation handling and FPS maintenance.

If it exceeds the base code limitations I’ll gladly correct that, just inform me 😉

First Ludum Dare ever! Getting all excited and stuffz.

I will work on Windows 7, using Code::Blocks. Language choice is C++, libraries used iare SDL and OpenGL. I will also use some premade code that I’ll upload later, because i dont know the syntax perfectly yet 😛

The one that got me in here is the allmighty Notch. He inspired me to get into OGL and I hope he does well!
