I got sidetracked for a couple of hours, but I now have the core game idea fleshed out, and have fiddled enough with Unity to think I know enough to implement it. I’ve used Unity before, but only in groups and building off of foundations. Very daunting creating something from scratch with it! Also Blender, Blender is very hard…

I’m placing all my bets on ⛄jam.

Gonna be using Lua with Love2D, probably doing the typing with Sublime Text and Vim. Letsss gooooooooo

Lot of high score games let you share your successes to Twitter and stuff, so why should LD games be any different?

Here’s the module. Just download the file as “twitterer.lua” and require it into your game.

This is my second LD. I participated in #LD28 but I didn’t manage to make #LD29. Hopefully things go better this time!

I actually have a fleshed-out idea in my head that I really want to do, so I’m hoping that we get a theme that works with it!

Language: Lua, the best mini-language ever.

Framework: Love2D

External libraries: Middleclass, so I don’t even have to consider how I’ll implement classes in Lua

Editor: Sublime Text 3, maybe some Vim

Art: Photoshop

Sound: If I have time, I’ll throw together something in Garageband

My head hurts too much right now to write a post-mortem (plus it’s probably too soon anyway), so have a gif instead. And congrats to everyone who’s participated in this LD, we’ve finally gotten to the end!

a preview of the lighting

I think I finally have what I want to do down (although it seems a bit late for that, eh?). Originally I was planning to do a platformer of sorts, but after wonking out some platformer code I realized that my idea didn’t really work in that form. Now I’m doing a top-down perspective. At the least the code is a lot easier, ahaha.

Having to relearn a bit of math, I wish paid more attention in linear algebra!

Going from this (click for GIF):

At the moment it uses a relatively quick line-intersection algorithm which performs pretty well with two polygons, but I’ll have to see how it scales up with some more of them, heh.
