Welp, it’s almost time, and this is what I have. It’s far, faaaaaaaar from complete, but I think I can only add a few odds and ends. This is basically the final product.

Hope you enjoy it.

WASD move your ball.
Q and E swap between your 3 pets.
Left-click to attack, when in range.
Right click to reset your pet to your location (They get stuck sometimes).
Your pet follows you.
Fire beats Nature, Nature beats Water, Water beats Fire.
Somewhat likewise Fire heals Fire, etc.
Each waves brings 0-10 enemies.
At the beginning of each wave your base gets 100 points.
When your base reaches 0, you lose.

It’s about time I have something I can actually hand to someone and let them figure everything out, without me having to tell them what to do.

It’s still highly in the initial stages. So much so that there’s no ‘gameplay’ to actually speak of, but still, it’s something.

So, after being told I could use an engine, rather than continuously hammering my head against the wall that is OpenGL and C++, I opted to go back to JMonkey. So far, I’ve got my key-bindings working and have a cube that can move around, with the camera following above.

Not a bad start, after what I was going through before the change. Still a lot to do, though.

P.S. My repo is at http://code.google.com/p/xinchro-ld-47/source/browse/ for those interested

First time for everything.

This will be my first (hopefully, not last) time entering the Jam. While I’ve made a few ‘games’ as part of university projects and such, this will be the first time where it’s no holds barred, do what you want in the time you have.
I’m no stranger to modelling and animation, though, as you can see on my Tumblr, but I don’t think it will matter much since I’ll most likely be coding my models, rather than modelling them.

Anyway, I wish everyone luck with their projects and hope to play some interesting games afterward.
