Hello all.  First off Id like to declare that I will be in this weekend, to the best of my abilities.

I will try to use Flixel or Blitz3D depending on the theme (if I want to use 2D or 3D).


SECONDLY, I would like to declare myself POTATO NEUTRAL. Thats right.  Spud Switzerland.

It’s a bit late but I’ve been a little busy.

In any case, I will be trying to make a game out of Flixel, Dame, Photonstorm, SFXR, and Paint.net.

Ok, lets try this again.  Last time, I ran into a problem with collisions that I ended up fiddling away way to many hours on. This time I’m thinking of going 3D and forgoing some of my later issues. I have a vague plan in mind taking into account the themes that are fairing well so far and I’m excited for the compo.


I will be using:

  • Blitz3D again
  • Paint.net
  • SFXR
  • Blender(?) …haven’t decided.
  • A whiteboard
  • Paper, Pencil, etc.
  • Food, air, squid…all that normal stuff.

Looking forward to 22!   I’m in.


Yah.. Kinda like that.

Well, due to forces beyond my control I must throw in the towel on this one.

It was a great experience so far, however, and I learned alot by trial and error. I most certainly will try to enter the next one.. That is if the site doesn’t explode.

The idea I had was a cool one I think, and I still plan to actually finish it so I can share it  (and have a little bit of reusable code for next time).


One interesting thing I DID accomplish was in fiddling with collision code I somehow created a Marching Squares algorithm. Go figure.


And while I’m sure this post will quickly be lost in the flood of posts, to Everyone who is still competing I say GO! GO! GO!  Have fun and finish a game.   LD is a great Compo. :)

With only a day to go, it seemed prudent to tidy up my workspace.  After all, its easier to write clean code in a clean environment.

So here it is:

Xams natural environment.











  1. Monitors (x2)- kinda important.
  2. Whiteboard – Great for prototyping at the speed of bad handwriting.
  3. Reference library – pages upon pages of obsolete information.
  4. Aztec calender – So I may easily keep track of upcoming LDs…  and  the arrival of OMETOTCHTLI.
  5. Tardis – Don’t leave time and/or space without one.
  6. Hundreds of note-cards, tools, pens, ect. – Useful for doing quick math or making reminders like “Eat Food”.
  7. Tower – That thing? oh thats nothing important. Just some chaotic neutral tin can that does a little grunt work for me. Pay it no mind.
  8. Security system – These guys are trained to attack, beware.


Well there you go. OH!  And as an addendum to my declaration, I might be using a free little library on my project called n-poly. Just a collision detection library. It all depends on the game I end up making.

Well here we go, no backing out.

I am in and here are my tools:

  • Blitz
  • Bass (Free Audio Lib)
  • Paint.NET
  • One of the free Music makers, which one might depend on the feel of the game I want depending on the theme.

That is it. Now to just sit back and wait for the theme voting to begin.  Good Luck Everyone!
