Life was beautiful

A little difficult to see the connection to the theme, but we tried and now have a pretty much finished game!

HûntSt°rJonny might release another build later on with completed soundeffects, but those will be marked as new releases (and still be in time for jam).

It was really nice to work in a team with HûntSt°rJonny for the first time and for once having my worst weakness (sound) covered.

First time with team

I`m happy to participate the first time at ludum dare. And first time we build a team. I`m the sound engineer (and if some time will last, i will make some programming too). So actually, we are making the first ideas real and i make the first recording of the future soundtrack. Hope you will like it and i`m happy to build a team with x1212.

I’m done.

My entry ‘The Happy One’ is finally finished, everything is uploaded and, whatever I was able to test, tested as well.

So I hope it will be less buggy and more enjoyable than my last one …

Time to get some rest.

end of day 1

Time for some sleep, last thing I made was a shader with godot’s graphic shader editor.

That shader does what it should do, but I no longer have any idea why (and if there isn’t a simpler/better way for this) … getting too tired …

I’m in most likely

If I don’t get struck by a sudden lack of creativity I will join for a fourth time.

Tools of choice will be:

  • Engine: Godot Game Engine
  • 2D Graphics: Krita, Gimp, maybe Inkscape
  • 3D Modeling: Blender if I do anything 3D at all
  • Music/Soundeffects: Bitwig, Sfxr, Audacity if I happen to make any sound stuff … I’m terrible at that …
  • Other: maybe some plugins or extensions to Godot made by the community

nearly done

I finished making my game. The graphics are not as good as I wished them to be, but I guess at least I managed to maintain a consistent style. Music isn’t there, as I’m terrible at composing, but at least there are some generic sfx.

Now I have to export everything then upload it and I’m done.

Ok, I will try for a second time

I will use the following tools:

  • GODOT Game Engine
  • Gimp
  • Blender
  • not sure about sound jet

I hope I will get an idea in time, the theme this time is very interesting but I’m not confident to get a idea simple enough to implement in time.

almost done I guess

but still didn’t come up with a name for it …

At least I have tested nearly all platforms I can export to (linux, windows, HTML5).

HTML5 exports seem not to support sound, also it is not very fast and it does not use the correct resolution.

Linux and Windows (at least with my tests in wine) work fine.

One platform I still have to get this to run on is the Open Pandora. I have build godot for pandora some time ago, but this build is a little bit outdated and cannot run this project.

very small progress

not too much time left, but now most of the logic is in place.

Time to create more content …

first try, first day …

I’m not sure if I’m gonna be satisfied with my work so far … or if I’ll be able to finish this in time (for compo) …

So far there is only a mole you can control, and worms that will disappear if you hit them …

Also not sure what I should be doing next …

I’m in

… for the first time.

I’ll use the following tools:

  • Godot Engine (a nice open source game engine http://www.godotengine.org/wp/)
  • Pinta/Blender/Gimp/MyPaint (depending on what kind of graphics I will want to create)
  • lmms/sfxr

Now all I need is some good ideas …
