Well I think its safe to say I have totally mucked up my game. After getting some sleep and finishing my maths exams today I played through the game. I was horrified at the number of mistakes and errors there were. I also realised that I spelled the name of the game wrong when I submitted it. But I’ve learned some new things so that’s the good thing.

One question though. After you have submitted your entry are you allowed to fix errors and stuff in it? I don’t really want to fix anything (what’s done is done). I’m just stupidly curious.

P.S Maybe I’ll get the worst game award.

Holy smokes! I just made it with 5 seconds to spare. I’m not kidding! Well that was fun. It’s a great challenge and I hope to take part in future ludum dares.

If you want to check out my game click here but I must tell you, it has not been tested so please notify me of any bugs and errors you find.

I hope everyone else had as much fun as I did!

Yikes!

Man just a few hours left and the fact of the matter is I might just make it. Just have to finish the levels, polish up the engine and get it on here and hope for the best. Sorry for not putting screenshots since I’m am power programming (yes that’s what I’ve called it) as fast as I can. See you guys at the finish!

Well with just 11 hours to go I think its safe to say, I will finish. I have finished the main structure of the game and I have drawn all the levels on paper. Now to finish graphics and design all the levels and if there’s time, make so nice music.

The adventure continues!

Well I’ve certainly started to crap myself. Everyone has gotten so far. I’ve only made the basic engine and there’s still a load more to do!

Over the next 3 hours I will finish the basic physics, gui, map, bg sets for levels and all the enemies in the game (there are a lot but its lucky I was designing an enemy ai engine so I know what to do). At around 2am or 3am (I live in the UK) I’ll go to sleep for about 6 hours and during the last design all the levels for the game.

Coincedently I was thinking about making an exploration game so It was pretty easy to come up with an idea. In the game you are a robot who has been locked in a crate and thrown in to the ocean. A couple of days later you arrive on an island. I won’t tell you guys the rest. Hopefully everyone else isn’t doing as bad as me.

Bring it on

Well I have everything ready. A large supply of freshly squeezed orange juice, hypercam (which hopefully won’t destroy my processor), a baseball cap with a number 1 on it and a comfy, spinny chair.

This is my first time entering and it’s so exciting! I’m going to use game maker (since I haven’t got enough skill in c++ to produce something remotely presentable in 48 hours)  and if I have enough time, I’ll be able to create some nice music for the game on my keyboard.

Good luck to everyone participating!
