Did some experiments on the warm-up weekend to get the basic low-level stuff working and adapted this simple code base from it to use for my competition entry. Code here: LD25 Warmup base code . Includes applet code, texture loading, drawing code, and sound loading/playback.

This is my first time entering Ludum Dare and I’m super anxious and excited to see what I can do. I’m from Richmond, VA, USA and I’m in the sixth month of development with a huge Adventure game I am making. Aside from that, I’ve only completed a couple of small games before this, so it’ll be interesting to see what comes of this.
Development Tools:
- Language: Java
- Distibution: intend to use an Applet, but may opt instead for using LWJGL and making an executable .jar and .exe since I have more experience with that
- IDE: Eclipse
- Graphics: PaintTool SAI and maybe Photoshop, if I need it
- Sound: sfxr, Audacity, Ableton
I hope to attend the RVA Game Jam for Ludum Dare as well, though I might have work schedule conflicts that would prevent that, but I intend to compete either way.
