I guess I can say “I did it”. I’ve made a complete game, albeit without sound or music (and a bit of a rushed ending).

This is a pretty original take on shooters, as far as I know. Please feel free to try it here (web game): http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-34/?action=preview&uid=3945

So here’s the game in movement. Anyone have an idea of what I could call this? I can’t seem to think of a good name…

Just a quick screenshot of what I’ve been working on. It’s a shooter; kind of. Looks much better in movement though.

I’m a little late to the show, but let’s see what I can come up with.

I’ll be using HaxeFlixel, FlashDevelop, PaintShop Pro X4, Audacity and Bosca Ceoil.

Well it’s a start…

Art’s definitely not my strong suit, but at least I’ve got something to work with now. I’m going to sleep now, until tomorrow!

Although I had little more than a day to make this, it is complete so I’m happy :) I just didn’t have much time to playtest, so I hope there aren’t too many bugs :S

My game is a minimalistic view of Work! I hope you enjoy :)

I’m late but I’m in…

I just realized there was a Ludum Dare happening now, and I thought of an idea I think I can make in the 29 hours left. It helps that the theme is minimalism :)

I’ll be making the game in ActionScript 3, with flixel.

Wow, those final hours were intense.

I started with a pretty ambitious idea.

For the first day it didn’t feel I would finish in time, but although it’s not as complete as I’d wish I think I can call it a finished game.

As the rules say, I’ve made the source available at http://vascof.com/TFE.zip

I’m really tired now so I’m signing off for now.

Hope you enjoy the game!

Finally, here’s the time-lapse of the development of Mittens. Enjoy!

I made it!

Finally, Mittens is finished! I really need to sleep right now… so I’ll submit a time-lapse video tomorrow.

Instead of using Musagi I used Wolfram Tones random generator for music, since I ran out of time to make it myself.

I also used flixel Power Tools for the health bar.

I hope you all like it! I’m really proud of the game I made, this was a great experience :)

My first Ludum Dare

Posted by

I’m really excited to start my first Ludum Dare! Here’s what I’ll likely be using:

– flixel AS3 framework

– FlashDevelop

– Paint Shop Pro X3

– as3sfxr

– Audacity

– Musagi (if I can figure out how to use it in time :D)

– My level editor, called Fury Editor, which is basically useless for anyone except me since fiddling with the source code and recompiling is necessary to adapt it to different projects. But since it seems to be required to share, here it is: http://vascof.com/Stuff/Fury Editor v0.1.zip

For changes in the level editor I’ll use CodeBlocks and compile with MinGW (gcc). The editor uses Allegro and OpenLayer.

Only 20 minutes left… Good luck everybody :)
