Apple took forever to review my games this time, nearly 3 weeks. But still, Swotch and p0p have been approved and are now available on iOS and Android !

Swotch and pOp : Overview

LD31 has been my first LD / Game Jam ever. I was a bit skeptical at first because I had just discovered Löve2D a few days ago when LD31 started. Some things went better than expected, while some others not.

First of all, I had time to create two games instead of only one. I first had the idea of pOp, a local multiplayer game, but a lot of people told me not to develop such a game, because it would be harder to try than 1-player games.

So, I decided to develop Swotch, an intense arcade game, before digging into pOp. I didn’t know I would have time to make both, though.


So, what went right ?

-Two playable and finished products

-Lots of polishing compared to all of my other games

-Good feedback from people, this really motivates me !

And… What went wrong ?

-I didn’t manage to add online scores. It worked at first, but I decided to remove it because it would make the final version lag a lot.

-No AI in pOp. You can only play with other people for the moment.


I would like to get even more feedback from you, players, to help improving my games !

And… Last thing… I’m actually porting Swotch and pOp to iOS and Android.

Hello everyone ! I will be participating in Ludum Dare 31 Jam. It is actually the first competition I’m ever going to be in !

I usually make my games with the Corona SDK, though I won’t use it this time, because it only exports to mobile phones. I’ve made three games available for iOS and Android, and another still in development. Check them out on my website http://ulydev.com/ !

I discovered Löve2D a few days ago, and thought it’d be a good idea to make a game with this framework. Plus, it uses Lua, which is also used by Corona SDK, so it shouldn’t be that hard to learn. I hope to be ready for the LD when it starts.

Here are the tools I will use :

  • Zerobrane Studio
  • Löve2D
  • Photoshop
  • Bfxr
  • Tiled

I’ll surely team up with artists friends of mine, considering myself as a programmer.

I’m super excited for next month’s LD and will try to do my best doing what I love ! Get ready for Ludum Dare, everyone, and good luck ! :)
