Day 1 – A Theft of Mass

It took me a long time to get a usable idea.  Initially, I had a list of excellent ideas, but they were all much too involved and if the warm-up weekend taught me anything, it was keep it simple.

I still have a long way to go, but the foundation is forming.

The Tiny World theme is very fitting.  I just finished two full days of emergency auto repair where we were confounded at every turn by extremely confined spaces housing massive things.  It’s done and we appear to have been successful, but I’m sore, sun-burned, and extremely tired.

Now for the relaxing bit, make a game in a couple of days, give or take.  The best I can do tonight is work up some ideas, maybe scribble in my notepad a little bit, and then go to bed and let the more functional part of my mind churn out something that hopefully won’t look like a turd.

I’m going to give this a shot.

Tools:

Gimp / Inkscape
SFXR / Audacity
Flex SDK, nano, make – that’s right CLI flash development unless I change my mind and use C++ and SDL.

Here’s hoping I manage to complete something!

Edit: My simple flash boilerplate if anyone is interested.  It’s basically a preloader, simple menu, and resource loader. – ffw.tar.gz

It includes greensock tweenlite, everything else is MIT/BSD, whatever.
