My first Ludum Dare has marked my decision of full dedication towards Game Design.
From hobby to passion..
I’ve partaken every LD since that moment and this one will be my fifth!
Love making games, proud to be part of the community, good luck to y’all and never stop!
GAME DEV ‘TILL I DIE
Btw I’ll be using:
– Gamemaker: Studio (IDE)
– bfxr.net (SFX)
– Pixen (ART)
– Milkytracker (MUSIC)
What I’ve made before:
Hello this is me at this exact moment… playing all your games… way too tired from making my own… still have to do homework…
Hey look I made a game, play it!!!!
I thought I’d share this with you guys:
First off, I’m not saying that using other games as an inspiration source is bad practice. After all, most good ideas come from a mixture of others. But personally I like to sometimes use different media for inspiration and I did this Ludum Dare.
The Badjau
This is a video segment from Human Planet in which you see the Badjau, or sea gypsies. They live on boats on the sea, rarely going ashore and when doing so getting “land-sick”. How about that huh.
The father hunts fish on the sea bed and is capable of holding his breath for about 5 minutes. I could tell you a lot more but you should just go watch it 😉
Results
And here is the result (my entry) with a gameplay footy by caranha as I can’t find any good pictures atm ^^
(you might want to skip to 0:58)
Remember my game from the 26th Ludum Dare!?
Well, I got a lot of great feedback and got some nice scores (of which 33th overal, 5th graphics), so I decided to further develop the game for iOS as my first commercial game!
And here is the result!

Thanks everyone at Ludum Dare, couldn’t/wouldn’t have done it without you!
