Day 2 Update- Sorta Playable!

Day 2 update for myself and Kevo- our game is coming together quite nicely.

We are making a game where you play as a general in his war room with the map on the table, and you play a Battleship-esque game based on what your messengers tell you about the conditions of the battlefield. The 3D board  doesn’t actually control anything- it’s just for you to keep track of where units are (plus it’s amusing to launch the pieces around the place XD).

Day2

The game just needs dynamic unit seeding (instead of static placement) and an instructions screen and then it is ready to go! Though if I have time, I’d like to add some polish to the game.

Day One Update

Hello there! Status update for myself and Kevo!

Day one is closing and a basic back-end structure for our game is starting to take shape. The music is coming along very nicely, and I think it suits the theme for our game very well. Hopefully by tomorrow we’ll have screenshots and demo clips to upload!

Now to catch some Zs before round two!

LD35 Done: Dance Dance Pathogen

Hey there! We’ve just finished our LD35 game, Dance Dance Pathogen! It’s a rhythm game where you have to keep the pathogen alive for as long as possible by changing the shapes of its antigens in response to the antibodies attacking it.

We (myself and AvinashD) had a blast making this game, despite the bugs along the way. I particularly enjoyed writing the music and making the animations- I like how EVERYTHING pulses along with the beat of the track!

Day 1 Round Up

Hey there! Just rounding up the first day of work, and we’ve got some basic sprites:

Pathogen Anitbody Semicircle Anitbody Square Antibody Triangle

The concept is you play as a pathogen in someone’s blood stream under attack by antibodies. The player has to mtch the INCORRECT shapes with the antibodies’ heads, so they don’t latch onto and destroy your defenses.

We’v only got some basic gameplay elements working, but we should have the majority of the rest done in the next 24 hours.

We also have some music!

I’m pleased with how the development of this game went compared to the previous one that I entered, LD32. I feel that its much more polished.

(Belated) Day 2 Update- More or Less Functional!

Forgot to make an update post last night before I went to bed, so I’m doing this now. I’ve progressed quite far since the first day, the game is now in a completely playable state, with endgame conditions, yay!

I’ve implemented the different module types, and they all affect the numbers correctly (at least, so far…).

I’ve also got a main menu and all that jazz.

I also had time to add in sound effects for button interaction and a quick tune to play in the background! So today looks like it will be polishing the game, making transitions between different UI elements nice and smooth, and possibly implementing a few additional ideas into the game.

So, the first day is drawing to a close, and I’ve got a fair bit done. Under the working title of “Station Modular”:

I’ve got the GUI elements designed (most are not functional yet XD). Spent a load of time hacking away at the code to instantiate the new modules onto the station, but I finally managed to sort it out! Now that the fundamentals are getting there, the next step is to begin implementing game logic (money in/out, different module type effects etc.).
