torus-on-arduino-wow

This weekend I was trying (and nearly succeeded!) to port my (js) game to my experimental arduino video console.
After some [obvious] problems with fitting a single level’s data below 500B (five hundred bytes), I do have something working, look at this 5s clip from vine!

I will not be able to finish the thing for the next month as I’ll be away from my “console”, but when/if I do, I will post it here.

It’s not as cool as the flickering original (5s of the original), but since some of you didn’t like the flickering (how come?!), here is something you might prefer — if you’re interested in solving my 10 puzzles of course:
http://drcz.github.io/dercz9000/js-gfx-test/
— I made it in order to test the monochrome 8×8 sprites (I was constantly redrawing them, until they looked acceptable — no idea how to draw things, I’m an engineer ;)). The viewport is smaller, there are no heavenly sounds, and… it does not flicker. (Of course I encourage everyone to surrender and allow the 7Hz flickering to put you in a funny state!)

Cheers, thanks a lot for my smooth Ludum Dare initiation, fantastic games, and the feedback — you are a marvelous community!
See you on Ludum Dare 36 :)

despite me having fever, the thing is alive!

unfortunately we do have ants again (perhaps because I didn’t place them in the game… ant-right) — we have to go out for 2h (chemical warfare!).
but still there’s pletny of time in the evening to design some levels…
good luck everyone!

Ok, seem to have an idea, and even a title:
“3 Rules of 2 Color Shapeshifting in a Microworld on Torus”.

Just pushed my warmup crap + some ‘code base’ here:
https://github.com/drcz/ludum-dare-35
— in case you’re still working on a code base for js+html5 tile-based game, you can take a look on how not to do that.
Still quite nervous… Time to buy some sweets, and [try to] take a nap.
The only good dercz wishes you all a pleasant 6h 46m of waiting!

I’m in!

First time, very nervous, willing to fail and learn! Just made a warmup demo.
coding: raw js in emacs
gfx: pencil + markers + imagemagick
sound: korg volca + audacity + [maybe] modplug tracker?

The Only Good Dercz wishes you all a wonderful jam!
