I am sorry, Zachtronics.

Nobody’s going to believe this, but here we go:
When i created stacktrace, my LD33 entry, i knew it was inspired by something i had already seen some time ago. But i didn’t know what at the time.
Just a random game about coding in assembly, that i had seen somewhere sometime ago. It was TIS-100
TIS-100 sat in my mind quietly after i watched a review of it. And i forgot about it. During LD i had remembered that there was a game about coding in assembly, so i thought why not have a go at creating something simmilar?
Well, turns out it is a bit too simmilar. Mechanic-wise that is. They both need the player to read documentation first, both machines spew out random data etc.
And, trust me that was NOT intentional. Human subconsciousness can be a bitch sometimes. And this time it was.
Still, have fun if you want to play it (here), just like i did creating stacktrace. Hopefully it is not considered plagiarism.
Check out the ‘original’, TIS-100 by Zachtronics here: http://www.zachtronics.com/tis-100/
I’m sorry for stealing your idea, even though i did not know about it at the time.

Big fail on my part.

So, i failed miserably. I am constantly uploading bugged versions of the game.
But that last one… gosh, it jumped straight to the ending!

Anyway, i think that the game should be fine now. All tests ok. All bugs fixed.
I think

Play it here.

So, i had written an assembly coding simulator, including the assembly part, this Ludum Dare, called…

And i made a timelapse out of it (using chronolapse – great program btw)!

Check out the game here

And check out the timelapse down below!

Fixing bugs just turned into making the game unplayable, and all because of a few debug lines.
I need sleep..

Anyway, Stacktrace should now be fully functional. Get it here

Stacktrace is done.

You work for a shady government organization, that specializes in software and encryption.

One day, the superiors had brought you this machine and only one task: fix it. No questions asked.
But at what cost?

You’ve heard all of that already. The point is, it’s done, and you can finally play that code simulator with story attached to it.
Have fun 😀

First screenshots…

I highly advise you to check the previous post for more info!

This is the screen you will see the most in the game
(Well, you will see only that aside from the story like dialogue etc.)
(Oh and also it won’t be that small of course, don’t want to spoil too much 😛 )
That, and 2 PDFs containing the machine’s documentation and your assignment.

I said my game is nerd only.

Also, i need feedback! Whatcha think, guys and gals?

The game will require you to analyze inputs, and guess what kind of actions you have to perform on them, to give the expected outputs.
As you fix the machine, messages from unlocked memory banks pop up, containing a bit more info than some would like to know about what’s it used for…

Will you keep coding?

So yeah, the game’s coming along nicely 😉

..although i need a “nerd only” label on my game. It involves coding in a language i had made specifically for  that game. Will be fun, struggling with in-game editor right now.

I am streaming!

For the first time in  my life, i’m using a dual monitor setup, and it’s freaking amazing.

Once again, the tools i’ll use:

– LibGDX
– sfxr
– FL Studio

I’ll also be:
– Drinking lots of coffe and coke (the drink, not the drug)
– Listening to dubsteps from YouTubes. Best music for coding, period.
– Streaming @ twitch.tv/themorfeus < waiting for you there!

Oh, and good luck to all participatnts!

I’m in, yay!

Pong Mania got an update!

Welp, MiniLD is still going, so i am still updating my game. And now it got a pretty big one.

For starters – the game now features sounds. Yay!

Second thing? Main Menu, through which you can select a gamemode you want to play:

But what is that? 4 Paddles?

Yep. The game features two gamemodes. Classic pong, and 4 paddles, which looks like this:

You basically play as two paddles at once. And no, it’s not as easy as it looks.

So, click here to check out the game. Hope you like it!

So.. Yesterday i started working on a new game, a prototype of sorts. Today i casually check ludum dare page, and guess what? The theme for MiniLD fits my game!
The game’s called Pong Mania, and it’s nowhere near finished, and it’s still not fully playable. But hey. It looks cool. Check it out here:

And have a screenshot:

Hope you like it!

Soo, the game i am working on is called Singularity, and since i’ve just finished the menu, i thought i might show you what it looks like and give a preview of the music involved.

Enjoy c:

PS: The game is NOT black and white, and it is NOT inspired by those flash’ Shift’ games 😉

So yeah, i finished my game. Not really happy with how it turned out, as plans were much bigger, but hey, it doesn’t look too bad :)
Grab it while it’s hot!

Thanks for all the fun,  Ludum Dare!
