We are in!

Hi there!

We are The Mad Knights and this is our third LD as a team. This time we are gonna use Unity as our Game Engine instead of Phaser. We are really excited to try it but also afraid because we don’t have enough experience.

We have finished our brainstorming session and we are starting the game design. Our main idea is the following:

“You are a dungeon and you need to protect an ancient treasure from brave explorers. You can activate some traps to stop, slow or just kill them”

Progress!

We are doing fine! The main mechanic is almost finished. As you can see in the picture, villagers are having conversations randomly about likes and dislikes. Our hero needs to transform in something a villager likes or he’ll be punished.

You can see a playable version here: http://ld35.surge.sh (the villagers are just ignoring the hero for now).

We are working on the HUD and we are not sure about the position of the “transformations panel”. It’s going to be a kind of sidebar probably.

As we are participating on the JAM we have an extra day to do more improvements to the game but we want to finish a full playable version today.

Hi guys!

The Mad Knights is here again :). We are working on a game where you control a Slime who has the ability to copy the shape of something (or someone). He needs to feed his family but the world outside of his dungeon is very dangerous.

The main action will occur on a random village (full of villagers). The game is a platform genre with stealth touches. We are using pixel art with a small pallete of 4 colors based on Game Boy.

Software: PhaserJS, PyxelEdit, LMMS, Audacity, Tiled, Gimp y SFXR

Hi there!

The main game mechanics are mostly done. We are doing small tweaks on collision boxes, fixing a few bugs and adding states in our game. Take a look at a few screenshots, from left to right: start, credits and game states.

Our game have now animations, sound and music. We are going to design some levels before the deadline, add some missing features and fix bugs. We also need to balance the game in order to make playable and create a good tutorial.

Game mechanics almost finished!

Hi there!

We have added some new mechanics to our game! First, we have traps :O. The most common is the spikes trap that kills you if you hit it from above. Another cool trap is the boulder trap. It throws a big rock that you need to avoid using your spells.

The ugly orange box is a mobile platform. Our artist is working hard replacing the placeholders. He just finished the terrible slime enemy :D. You can see it in action here.

We are going to work on the level design this afternoon (here in Spain is 1pm). Our idea is to finish the game with a in-game tutorial and four working levels.

Hi there!

We are making some progress with the game mechanics :). The good-looking wizard can move, jump, stop and cast fireballs to the terrible green placeholders!

This is a screenshot of our progress. The art is not final and we still need a look of work but it’s looking good so far!

Habemus game idea

Hi there!

After a long brainstorming we have decided to create a game where you control a robo-wizard who has lost his memory… actually it has been stolen by the evil character of the game. He doesn’t remember how to walk, jump or cast a fireball spell.

Using two buttons you need to perform all the actions of the game. You need to unlock the forgotten spells using combos and clear levels without dying.

Let’s go!
