Why not trees?

So, I figured that uprooting trees and bashing people with them would serve well as “unconventional”.

I’ve been focused on the mechanic implementation, and the visuals. I guess now I should be worried about gameplay and rules. I’m thinking something like: plant trees, bushes and other defenses, and when you’re done, the guys with chainsaws come running and you have to defend the forest (by using it as ammunition?) – makes no sense. But its fun!

The first playable build is up. Basically it will connect to a random room, so if noone else is playing, too bad :(

I’ll keep a build running on my desktop for a while if people wanna play someone. Lots of network bugs that I’m not going to solve :)

Still wondering how I’m gonna fit the theme in – oh well….

Multiplayer implemented, hooray!

Implemented multiplayer for the first time. It wasn’t nearly as difficult as I had anticipated, good times were had all around.

So now I have to mean looking little dudes running around with no way to interact with each other yet. I need to start worrying about game mechanics :(

Level_outline

Hey all. Signing in.

This is my second Ludum Dare, and I’m excited to see what games come out of it this time.

I’m not sure what my game will be yet, but above you can see a rough outline of an arena I’m building.

I will be using the Prototype plugin for Unity to create the environment, Photon for networking, Photoshop, Audacity and perhaps Blender for models. Happy devving, all!
