I’m in for my 11th Ludum Dare!

Here is a recap of my last few Ludum Dares:

LD36: Pharoh Kefmeh

This was a web-based pyramid building game my brother RadioLemon and I made with WebGL.

LD35: The Mysterious ShapeShifter

A game with unique controls and gameplay following the journey of people trying to get through a cave with the help of a mysterious creature. This was a ton of fun to design.

LD34: Tree Monster Simulator

Play through the different stages of growth of a tree monster. Not my best work, but I finished it!

LD33: Morrzone Fling

A game where you have to fling a baby harpy seal. This was my first game utilizing GameJolt’s online scoreboard feature.

I have been participating since LD26. Looking at my older submissions, I think I’m going to put more effort into polish this time around. I learn something new every time, so I am excited to see how LD37 will go for me.

Paint.NET as always

Woo it’s time for another Ludum Dare! I’ve been doing these for almost 3 years now.

This time my brother and I hope to create an awesome game using JavaScript and WebGL, along with Paint.NET for graphics and Audacity for audio.

I’ll be looking forward to the (hopefully) more detailed feedback from people since judging will be unofficial this year.

Let’s have another fun weekend!

Its another Ludum Dare time!

I always love participating and I feel like I learn something new every time. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like I’ll have much time over the weekend but I will still try.

Since I didn’t really like my last entry that used Unity, I want to try again because Unity is very popular and it looks like it has a lot of potential if one can use it well.

  • Unity
  • Paint.NET
  • Blender?
  • Audacity???
  • Other things I find with Google.

I will also try using fellow Ludum Dare participant’s timelapse tool ProLapse for making a timelapse because they’re fun and I haven’t made one in a while.

Good luck everybody!

My first game made with Unity is finally (sort of) completed.

This is definitely not my best submission, but now I’m more familiar with a new tool, and I did make a cool tree model for it. (I was told it looks like broccoli though)

Good job everybody! Play my game here.

End of Day 1

Progress is going slow to say the least

On the bright side, I have two phases of my game nearly done.

I’ve recently started trying to make the game take more advantage of the 3D space, because up until half an hour ago the game behaved more like a 2D game with 3D models.

Flying as a seed

a bunny

Goodnight all!

Slow start but it’s going well

So my game starts with you as a seed and then you become a big tree monster and eat people

grr monster

Right now the sapling form can hide from predators (that will be made later) until you can grow big and strong

It’s almost time for yet another Ludum Dare!

I have been participating in this since sophmore year in high school, but this is my first time doing it in college!

Unfortunately, Ludum Dare lands directly on the weekend before my first finals week. I will still try to participate, but I’m not going to put as much time into it,

I have always used Java and Javascript/HTML5 for my games, but I might decide to use Unity and Blender for a slick 3D game this time around. I attempted to do 3D modeling last time, but I got too ambitious and had to scrap everything, making a small game to replace it all.

Hype hype.

We’re making a game where you kill things and use them (or parts of them) as weapons! It’s menu based combat at it’s finest. We probably made the structure it too complex for what it is, but it looks like a game.

We have cutscenes.

We have a world map of the areas

We have really neat menu combat with really empty menus

We have flashy transitions

And effects that happen when you hit the spacebar at just the right time.

Overall it’s going pretty good. We should probably balance it though.

All right 7th Ludum Dare!

I’m going to use the Jmonkeyengine because we’re supposed to try something new.

Using Paint.NET and Audacity and this little adapter thing I bought for my computer to record sounds from the electric guitar I have.

Let’s have another fun weekend!

Oh my, it’s time for another Ludum Dare! This is my sixth time and I have really enjoyed learning more and more about programming and game development every time I participate!

Paint.NET & Gimp!!

Audacity & maybe Anvil Studio? & evosfxr !!!

Hopefully this time I won’t have to scrap everything and restart half way through!

“To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan, and not quite enough time.”

– Leonard Bernstein

Time for another one! As always I’ll be using Javascript, typed from Notepad++, Paint.NET for pictures and Audacity for sound.

Warmup for Ludum Dare by joining TAG Jam 13!

Hello Ludum Dare community! Ludum Dare 30, a big number for it, is coming around soon! This month is also a big month for the The Arbitrary Game Jam with it’s one year anniversary, the first TAG being hosted August last year.

I invite all of you to come and join it! The whole idea behind TAG is that the winner of the last jam will host the next event, picking one of the themes that aren’t randomly generated and creating any bonus rules. This helps small and talented indie companies and game developers get traffic to their sites.

This month the TAG Jam is hosted by hilgames. The random themes are ‘Second Rate’, and ‘Cementation’, with the host chosen theme ‘Storm’
