Here’s a bunch of notes:

  • About 20 hours total…tool mucho breaks for UFC and sleep/eating
  • Spent about 20 minutes after theme announce to come up with game
  • Boy I suck at Unity some times.  I probably spent 7-8 hours on Unity bugs.
  • Just realized I forgot to add blood and blood permanence
  • Stuff I need to get better at:
  1. Animating using mechanim
  2. Using enable/disable active and the flow that engenders
  3. Not using enums/state machines every time I encounter “ai”
  4. Rotating things toward other things
  5. Tweening in more interesting ways quickly.  I want to point at generic functions for bounce and blip text in/out
  6. Singleton usage – particulaly upgrading my singleton class to support singletons that persist between levels
  7. GUI
  8. Making my own assets in 2d/3d.  Too scared to do any art in such a short time period
  9. Smart reusable classes (screen shake, hit pause, menu flow, blood, health bars, tween stuff)

LD 29 – first post ever

Ok I wanted to write a post before this started.  This will be my first attempt at a LD.  I’m going to try and keep this SUPER SMALL.  This especially important considering I’ll be not full-time on this (spending some time away to setup a desk, whiteboard, UFC, food).

Here’s my plan on tools:

  • Photoshop
  • Unity
  • Leantween (unity plugin)
  • Bfxr
  • Audiotracker
  • Coffee
