Hello!

I talked about Bellows already but never with a gif.  So we’re tryin it again!

Bellows is the Jam game Grahm Nesbitt and I made.  It’s about a man trying to make his…unconventional escape from the city using his trusty bellows to propel himself.  But in the sky there lives all manner of creatures, any of which could bring his journey crashing down.

We worked hard on this game, me on coding and graphics and Grahm on music and sound.  We’re really proud of it and think it turned out quite well.  We hope you like it too!

It is done!!!

BELLOWS is a fast-paced, procedurally-generated action game about escaping the city in a rather…unconventional manner. Use your trusty bellows to avoid crows, rats, and bats on your way to the top, and collect bubbles to make sure you never run out of air.

We submitted Bellows earlier today with about 2 hours to spare!

Grahm Nesbitt did the music and sounds and some of the game design, I did the other part of the game design, as well as the coding and art stuff.

We think it’s super cool and worth checking out! Play/rate it here

Color Code is finished!

Hello!

I made a game! It is called Color Code! It is an adaptation of another game called Pair Solitaire.

I wasn’t gonna enter LD (it kinda crept up on me, I wasn’t ready) but I kinda wanted to try to mess around with the mechanics of Pair Solitaire since I love it so much, so Color Code was born!

In Pair Solitaire, you have the typical 52 card deck all stacked in front of you, and you can remove any card from the stack that has a number or pair match two cards away.  Your goal is to remove as many cards as you can from the deck.

In Color Code the rules are basically the same, except replace ‘suit’ with ‘color’, and instead of the cards being all in a long, 1-dimensional stack, they’re arranged in a grid.

I hope you like it! I sure liked making it.

I’m finished!

Holy cow that was fun.  I feel like I got a lot done in the allotted 48 hours, too (so much so that I actually had to cut some stuff because the game was getting too complex :P)

My game is called Interplanetary Defense Alliance, and it’s basically about a group of planets who have to fight off a never-ending swarm of enemies by swapping out different resources between them.  I was originally going to have your ‘resources’ be soldiers of different types, all with different strengths and weaknesses towards the different enemies that showed up, but then after trying to draw some good soldiers I was reminded that my pixel art really sucks :P.  Its probably for the best; I think my other idea would’ve been too complex and wouldn’t have allowed for the polish this simpler version allowed me.

Anyways, I hope you guys also had a good Ludum Dare, and I hope you enjoy my game! You can find it right here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=39104
