Sup peepity-peeps,

Jared from Tasteslikefuture here, and I’m definitely in for this ludum dare!

I’ll be utilizing the Unity engine, as well as blender, GIMP, garageband, and maybe some new stuff. All the themes seem pretty intriguing, and I can’t wait to see what all you mad men and woman dream up! Good luck to all participants, and if you’re thinking of trying out ludum dare for the first time this year, I have but one piece of advice: JUST DO IT! No matter what you create, there is always such a wonderful sense of satisfaction in completing something, and you’ve got a whole community of people willing to check your work out and give you plenty of helpful advice and insight.

Let’s do this thing! Aw yeah!

Jared from Tastes like Future! Games here, I’m happy to say that I’ll be participating in my second ever Ludum Dare this weekend. Woot!

Tools I’ll likely be using this go ’round:

-Unity (and all the juicy new features recently made available)

-Photoshop/After Effects

-Metaio AR (if applicable- hopefully the theme will allow me to explore developing game content in AR)

Good luck to all participating! Last year was tons of fun, with plenty of awesome entries in both the compo and the jam. I’ll be trying to do some livecasting, but if last LD was any indication, my current machine might not be able to handle it. I’ve heard of some nifty timelapse software, so I might play around with trying some of that out.

LD31, here we come!

This is going to be my first foray into Ludum Dare, so it’s time to strap on the big boy pants and do some devving!

Here are the tools I’ll be using to create my game:

Unity3d – engine
Photoshop – Texture and GUI design
Garage Band – Music
Blender – 3d modeling and animation
cfxr – Bleeps and boops

Like alot of folks, I’ll be spending today and tomorrow sketching out game ideas for each of the final theme choices; Seems like that lets me get a bunch of ideas down on paper, as well as giving me a whole bunch of new game ideas for after the jam! Woo-yeah!

I’ve had alot of fun streaming my first game jam a few weeks ago, so I’ll be attempting the same setup this time around as well.

Good luck to everyone participating; I can’t wait to see what sort of madness everyone gets up to!
