My plan to “finish” my first game

Skware was my first game written for Ludum Dare. In fact, it was my first game ever!

I enjoyed building it so much that I’ve decided to continue working on it in my spare time (nights/weekends). Getting feedback has been great (though I’d love more) and so I’ve begun to organize my next steps. I’m using Trello to list the remaining work. Here’s a picture of where I think I’m headed :)

Thanks to all who’ve played and rated my first game. It’s been a great experience!

Skware – My First Game

It is done! Well, it’s submitted. :)

I have a feeling I’ll still add some polish (and music) and fix at least one bug I’ve found, but for now, it’s done! So happy I took the plunge and actually took the challenge. Both my middle-schooler and I entered the competition for the first time…and we both had a blast. (His game is called Dye. Check it out!)

I’d love to for you to play and rate my first game, Skware. Especially looking forward to the feedback.

Here’s a time-lapse video of The Making of Skware. I used TimeSnapper Classic to take full-size screenshots every five seconds. Turns out it’s a great way to get a realistic idea on how much time I actually spent. 6,771 images * 5 seconds = 33,855 seconds = 564 minutes = 9.4 hours. I think I need to do a better job of freeing up my weekend next time :)

Thanks again…and good night!
