I’ve written a post-mortem for my entry, Separation Anxiety.

I finished my Ludum Dare entry earlier this afternoon but waited until this evening to submit it.

It’s called “Separation Anxiety,” and it’s a puzzle game. This is my first Ludum Dare and it was an incredibly positive experience overall. I’m so happy I did this, and I hope people enjoy my game. :)

You can find its Ludum Dare page here. I did do the hidden kitty challenge, although I think it’s pretty hard to find. You really have to look closely. 😉

I’m done for tonight, but thought I’d post my game’s current state, since it seems everybody else is.

I was hoping to get a little more done, but this is good enough. Game still doesn’t have an official name yet though.

EDIT: If anyone was interested in this, it is now offline. I’m working on cleaning things up and making things far better, now that I have a bit more time. Hopefully it can be done by the next Ludum Dare!

For Ludum Dare, I wanted to have some sort of live progress updater so people could see how things are going.

So I decided to start a project called JAMR. However, I didn’t have enough time to finish it or get it as full-featured as I wanted. I wanted to create a PHP-based webapp with a backend for developers, and live updating for users.

It would feature an HP bar, the developer’s current status, and screenshots. On top of this, it was going to have a history feature for the screens so users can see how the game is evolving. It would also have an area for developer updates. Once again, this was all supposed to update live, so users would simply open the page and leave it.

However, I did not have time to implement, well, any of this. So instead I made this little HTML page that requires manual updating and uploading. It features the same HP bar, developer status, and updates that the full version is supposed to, but without any of the nice shiny features.

Anyway, point is, you can see my JAMR page here if you want to track my progress. This requires manual refreshing, though.

After Ludum Dare is done with, I hope I can finish the full-featured version of JAMR so others can use it in future jams and competitions.

I’m IN for this Ludum Dare.

I wanted to do Ludum Dare mini in October but was too busy. Well, now’s my chance!

I’m pretty new to game-making but an experienced programmer. I think this should be a good experience and a great way to test the waters.

I’m really excited and can’t wait for this to start!

I plan to use Flixel and FlashDevelop for coding, SFXR for sounds (what else?), and, if time permits, Sunvox and/or NanoStudio for music, possibly nanoloop as well.

Let’s make this an awesome Ludum Dare!

Ludum Dare Counter for Mac!

I saw galman’s Ludum Dare Counter here, and thought I’d write a Mac version.

So I did!

Next to the LD48h icon is the number of hours left, and when you click on it, it gives you more details!


This runs in the menubar and, as such, should not show up in the Dock when you launch it.
