Well, I’m too tired too go on so I guess this is the end of day 1. I’ve now added oil, pillars, matches and some basic menu type thing, as well as some slightly less placeholder graphics (still not great but I doubt I can do a lot better) and making optimisations so that the huge amounts of fire everywhere aren’t quite so laggy.

I didn’t get quite as much as I wanted to done today but I have all day tommorow which should be ok, hopefully. My current task list is; main menu, level selection, player graphics, match graphics, make it winnable, scoring, save data, sound, particle effects, more levels, better art, axe, death; which seems achieveable.

Anyway, heres a screenshot of things so far;

Ok, collision detection, scrolling levels and the basics of spreading fire, this is going places! Also, I’ve never made a game that scolls before, so thats one achievement already

I had absoulutely nothing for End of the World, so I’m glad that this one won out. After an hours hard thinking, going through wikipedia’s list of crimes, I’ve decided on arson!

(Wikipedia’s list of crimes is pretty decent for inspiration here I reckon).

Oh also, I’m totally in, using FlashDevelop and probably bfxr!

I’m gonna be using AS3 + flashDevelop. There is a 90% chance I will make a tile based platformer again. Either way it will be awesome.
