Ok,  i made some shooting gameplay. But it is only 1/4 of my plans )

It is cold, it is dark, it is

Your ship had emergency landing there and you must find components for fuel and repairs.
And while you are searching, ship can manufacture some useful equipment for ya.

Dunno if i ever can complete the game…Thinking of giving up

Theme is not my favourite, but so be it. Going to make shooter from topdown view with little quest elements. Still thinking.

Yesterday i have gived up, but when i awake today, suddenly i decided to continue work. And i was awarded! I made real great progress today, and impelement most features i have planned. Even i made some sounds with sfxr (dont planned sound in the start!).

So, to my game.

You own a space ship and decide to enter nearby asteroid field to explore it! You have prepared planetary landing module to land on asteroids and search for resources to upgrade you ship. What you will find? Rich mineral asteroids? Or space pirates?

Game can crash on ATI cards, sadly.

-3ds Max 2008
-Photoshop CS3

-My own STLEngine2
-FMod, free for non-commercial use

So tired, frustrated

Ok, i am too tired to continue, but i have made very little piece of game during 10 hours. So i give up – i cant make anything playable to the deadline. Sadly, but things go unexpetedly slow.

What i have done:

-Ship flying in space with real physics. Engines are rotating. Can switch wings angle to use landing mode.

-Can land on planet and dispatch land vehicle. Vehicle have suspension, can drive around on planet.

-Some very basic placeholder graphics and sfx

-Thats all )

What i wanted to make:

– Flying in big generated asteroid field, fighting with space pirates and monsters. Scan the asteroids to find minerals. Land to collect minerals and manufacture new stuff on your ship. Goal is to find relict artifacts buried in asteroids (once they was big planet).

Ok, i comed up with idea i like. The transforming space ship for multipurpose space exploration!

Deep space mode – all engines turned back – fast speed, low maneuvers.

Local space mode – normal speed, high maneuvers, fighting.

Scanner mode – orbit the planet and scan for minerals, lifeforms, etc.

Planetary lander mode – land on planet and drive on wheels.

Exploration – great theme. How much space exploration games for now? I like traveling in space and land on planets (reminds me of Star Control II), but need some originality in this, trying to figure out something…
