With no homework (yay, high school) and an entire Saturday to myself, I have no excuse for not finishing a game. If only I could dream up something awesome tonight, then I’d be all set.

Tools:

-Game stuff: Unity 4 (maybe 5, more familiar with 4 currently) or Game Maker Studio

-Sound: Audacity, bfxr

-2D Art: Photoshop Elements, Paint.net

-3D Art: Blender

My goals include 1) actually finishing 2) getting out of my comfort zone and trying 3D instead of 2D (which may or may not happen) 3) not getting distracted by other video games (no idea why I thought it was a good idea to reinstall Skyrim earlier…)

Hello everyone! I thought I’d better make the customary “I’m in” post, on behalf of myself and a friend of mine whom I’ve convinced to give game development a try (he’s had limited experience in game modding and plans on doing the art for our game). Not sure how much we’ll get done since we’re both on a competitive Team Fortress 2 team that’s doing a lot this weekend, but we’ll do what we can! This is my fourth time doing this (one attempt, two finished games – wow it’s been a while!) and like I said, first time for my buddy (known to the online world as Timba). Should be interesting to find out what two high school kids with limited time on their hands can accomplish.

Tools:

-Game Maker Studio (for me to make the game itself)

-Photoshop (for Timba to make pretty pictures)

-sfxr, maybe Audacity, might use tracks from nosoapradio.us (music/sound effects)

-sleep, ice cream, hot chocolate, three cats (for survival purposes)

Hello World! This is my second Ludum Dare, and I am in! To be honest, I don’t even know why I’m posting this, because nobody knows me and why should everyone care that I myself am in, but this just seems to be the tradition around here. ;D I like the theme (beneath the surface), and I can’t wait to get going, but I’m afraid I’ll have to get some sleep first. Also, having a song stuck in your head doesn’t help much when you’re trying to think hard about video games, as I am learning. I know I’ve been watching/reading too much Game of Thrones when “The Rains of Castamere” is stuck on infinite loop in my brain (I spent the last hour of waiting for the theme announcement learning the lyrics – unfortunately). Good luck everyone! 😀
