Join [your name here] on his quest to find his grandfather’s glasses! Battle evil rats/bunnies and turn them into equipment! Discover which items are useless, and which ones actually do something.

screen1

This is a puzzle-platformer about experimenting, exploring, and perhaps some trial-and-error dying like oldschool games.

What are you waiting for? Play it now!

First day through, game development started

Though I didn’t start very early, at least I have a small game coming up.

ld18_screen01

Though the screen may not reveal a lot, it’s a platformer with a twist. The main idea is that you defeat enemies, then craft their spoils into equipment. A platformer / adventure hybrid of sorts. Also, the code looks better than the screen does 😉

Run Moron – LD14 final version

This game is smaller than what I usually do for ludumdare. It’s made in flash, and because I’ve never made a flash game before, and because there were problems with the compiler, I didn’t get started until there was ~16 hours left. I still managed to make something, and I’m happy that I did and that my first flash game turned out this way. The game is called “Run moron”, and it’s pretty self-explanatory.

You need a webbrowser with flash to play the game. You do not need the source to play, the only reason the source is here is to confirm the game is made by me.

Finally, I’d like to thank DrPetter and Draknek, for helping me with flash coding, and getting the compiler to work.

Ah! Death!

Here is what my game looks like right now. Some fractal trees, some guys and a ladder. You can knock the head off the other guy with a spear if you like. Oh, and by the way, it’s just a coincidence that he is looking happy. He actually is terrified.

EXE file for my game

Here is an exe and some dlls for my game if you use windows. You still need the data (graphics and levels) from the other archive though. Just put the contents of the two zip-files into the same directory.

Here’s the zip:

If nobody gets any problems with this zip then I will probably make a new zip with the EXE, the datafiles and the source code together.

This zip countains source code and linux executable. Windows executable should come whenever I have the time.

If I had known that ludumdare would actually end, I’d have started earlier!!!
Here’s another picture of my game. I have updated the graphics a lot (and I think that these would do for my final submission unless I need more), what I still have to do is gameplay, sound and levels.
Nice Graphics

Some more progress

Things look nicer now, but I plan to make them look even nicer in the final version

Still much left, but at least past more than nothing

I didn’t start working until maybe 18 hours of the competition had passed. This was because I was wisely spending my time sleeping and playing FF7. Now I’ve started though, and even though it is not much I think I should post something about my game. Hopefully it will make me want to finish it more and make it better.

A screen!

The purpose is to send energy to all the planets in the area to complete a level. The purple things in the picture are rays of energy. The grey thing in the middle is the space station, that will send out energy. You can see a comet also, followed by some particles. The rest of the particles (yellow) are from a planet that blew up when a comet hit it (this makes you lose). Never mind the thing at the bottom.

Right now I’m fighting a really annoying bug.
