Liquefy : 24 Hour Check-In

Whew! We’ve had an incredible 24 hours.


Aside from making headway on a lot of sprites, we’ve ironed out 95% of the main game mechanics, all planned levels are designed and built as a¬†prototype, and we’ve added the super fantastic-amazing Erich Talaba to our team who is developing our music and sound.

Now for a 12 hour nap, I think.

We’re back at it 7am CDT tomorrow so we’re going to rest up while we can!

This is my first Ludum Dare, yay!

I’m working with some complete strangers. Should be fun. They seem cool so far. :p

Griffin – Programming

Clint – Programming

Sarah (Chai) – Art

Sara – Art & Design

For now, I’m just trying to loosely block out tasks by hours:

  • 0-12
    • 0-3 Project Planning
    • 3-6 Proof of Concept (Programmer art and main mechanic demonstrated)
    • 6-12 Program primary (level 1) obstacles and enemies
  • 12-24
    • Level design & building
    • Program more enemies if necessary
  • 24-36
    • Sleep & break, probably
  • 36-48
    • 36-48 Final prototype design testing
    • Art assets
  • 48-60
  • 60-72

None of us are really sure where this is going so far.

For now our plan is to make our game in Game Maker. Our main mechanic is that our character can become a liquid at will, and s/he will be affected, diluted, and mixed with other liquids to accomplish tasks.
