First Day of Progress

Hello fellow Ludum Darers…

At last i find the time to do such a trivial thing as writing a blog post…

Evolution was a hard pick for me…after 2 unsuccessful attempts, i finally narrowed it down to a acceptable game idea.

The first day for me was spend mostly coding ( and doing art when tired of good ol bugs). So far, i can say that i got the basic framework going..and the last 2 days are for levels and polish(and bug squishing of course). But at the moment my game is still all out of colorful blocks.. so i spare you the sight of these thingies and give you the title animation of my game instead.

PS: i almost forgot… i am in :) in the jam that is(although alone … but i need my time to finish)

I will be using xna with a custom ludum proven engine build on top of it. And this time i will hopefully be able to cross-compile for Linux and mac as well.

ahhhhh…my mind is playing tricks on me again…

instead of fixing bugs and implementing neccesary game logic i spent way to much time implementing new features


at least i got my lightning engine to work:

i had enough of coding for today…so i did my first animation for the game


it turned out ok….considering that  i am not an artist


so…. moving on

progress…not much in the graphics department, but the functionality is slowly starting to work.. i leave the second day for graphic stuff and music

Hello there,

i will take part in the jam… but will still try to finish in 48hours.

it took me a long time to find an idea for the theme tiny worlds.

But now i have a little idea that i will try to flesh out a little more.

We are in!(in the jam that is)  We are a team of 5 guys ( and girl ) from Germany. We will be using C# , xna and a little selfmade library. We wish everyone a happy Christm………. erm Ludum Dare.

everything finished …exept for the leveldesign

now this is what i call a gooooooooood level..makes you wanna play it..right? right? right?

after around 3 hours of correcting collision detection.. stuff finally works.

still have to do all the map stuff and graphics and sound and and and…

darn….this is kinda discouraging :)

after some work on enemy behaviour and ai the game suddenly makes more sense..

even when it doesn’t look like it yet :)

soooo… finished the codebase at last

now on for some serious gameprogramming.


i wondered why everybody starts with the titlescreen.. so for reasons of peer-group-pressure

I’m in this time and i’m gonna jam with a friend of mine.
