I’m slooooow

Saturday, August 27th, 2016 7:10 am

Well, maybe it’s a bit ambitious to try making a map generation system at a time like this :)

Even if i can’t finish game in 48h, in the end i will have a decent map maker algorythm :).

Let’s go, i’m in

Ancient tech ? Mmh i’m in so let’s find a good idea 😉

Rotation !

Saturday, April 18th, 2015 6:55 am

Never done before, i just achieved a rotation with a sprite. That is definitively anyonning and limited to do in XNA …

Now, let’s work on different character shapes :)

The idea

Friday, April 17th, 2015 11:44 pm

The 1st hour was kind of disturbing. I had no idea fitting in the theme !

But with a little brainstorm, i came up with 3 ideas.

One was fun but too far from the theme and maybe hard to balance, so i get rid of it.

Another was tricky for me because it asked to produce maybe too much content and texts not in my natural language. And i was looking for some jokes so the risk could be that english people can’t understand my jokes !

The one i’ve choosed, can be fun (i hope). It’s a game about finding a correct answer to a problem versus someone else (an IA for start) in a limited time.

I’m going to sleep a bit (yes already, my timezone don’t fit with the LD’s one) and after i’ll start coding core gameplay :).

LuDum DaRe 32

Friday, April 17th, 2015 2:58 pm

So, i’m kind of new into programming stuff so i will try to make something really really really small alone just to see how far i am from doing a Ludum Dare alone :)

I think i will use XNA (yes the old thing) and Photoshop.

Raining day + sick + new at coding = maybeLD#29

Hello everyone !

First time i will try the LD alone. I don’t think i will make it because i’m dizzy. I’ll see :)

Good luck.

Evolvorous : The evolution of the development :)

Thursday, August 30th, 2012 2:55 am

This JAM was really interesting and a great way to see how we can work effectively to reach a little game :).

Like the most of us, we weren’t searching about succes but more about challenge, fun, testing ourselves and getting comments on our work to evolve ^^.
Evolvorous is available here !

Let’s see how Evolvorous evolved :

Basic construction of the map

Putting some elements to making this more diversified

The map real size with many hex. Many hex in this game creation !

Putting the first grapbics of the snow environnement

Adding others graphics to see how this could render (even if the graphics willn’t be used, they can construct the idea)

Adding a new graphic for the snow

Tree graphic for snow

Adding the desert’s graphics

Adding some old monsters to work on characters placement

Adding the fog of war to hide the other species/enemies

Adding the swamp’s graphics

Adding the volcano’s graphics

Changing the size of graphics for a better rendering by reducing number of hex on the map

Adding the plain’s graphics and changing the testing ressources graphics  and changing to those provided in the game

Random placement of graphics for the ressources used for food

Adding the first monsters ! It’s the monster for volcano species

Adding new species !

All the species are created and they can be merged

Defining how the species should look like when the player escape or attack in his way of gaming

Polishing the species with more beautiful and harmonics colors.

Working a bit more on food ressources

Adding new graphics to represent how carnivorous and herbivorous should look like when they eat food.

Duck mouth for the herbivorous and mouth teeth for carnivrous.

Final polish onto all the graphics

Adding the HUD

The final render :

Evolvorous, the body resistance

Thursday, August 30th, 2012 1:23 am

About the HUD of body resistance :

I’m pretty glad about the simplicity of this hud.

To remember, in Evolvorous you evolve in differents environnements to adapt and transform your species in order to survive.

To know where your species can move, we made a special hud showing the resistance of your body to an environnement because when your species walk onto an environnement, she takes damage if she’s not prepared to live in. Logical.

In this HUD, the middle green cube show the default environnement (plain) where all the species can evolve without trouble (except with enemies :)).
Each of the others cubes show an environnement where you will adapt your body in order to survive. So when you can survive to train your body resistance to an environnement, a new cube appear and a part of your body evolve ! The limits are in the amount of resistances/cubes that you can get because it’s equal to the numbers of parts of your body you can change. And it’s 3.

I will probably develop this Hud in future games, because it’s clear, easy to read and simple.

To test it in game.

We’re in for the jam

Friday, August 24th, 2012 7:12 am

Hi all, for my second time in Ludum Dare i come with cutandreil for the Jam !

Ludum Dare 23 : A really good experience.

Monday, April 23rd, 2012 12:15 pm

It’s was hard but it was good.

My first time on a Ludum Dare’s challenge and it was really fun, motivating and based on molten brain and coffee in the veins !

I ddin’t have the time to create a timelapse but i took some photos to share some of my (french) reflections on paper.
For the Tiny World theme, i made a point&click game with the Adventure Game Studio software and it was pretty hard because i’m not a programmer and i learned the software and some programming skills at the same time i created the game. To say it, i wrote my first variables this week-end.

This challenge was a great was to test creativity in extreme conditions.I had to make concessions on the plot, the graphics and some gameplay mechanics but I’m pretty happy that I managed to do for my first time !

So, there is some photos :

Find my game here, I hope you like what i made !

Just Three Words
