Amazing Art!

Ok, so I have the first few art assets done, and a very simple dev level up and running.  No enemies or combat yet, that’s what I have to do next!

In case you haven’t been following my progress (you probably haven’t) I am making a game where you are santa and you throw XBox Ones at innocent Nintendo / Sony fanboys as gifts for christmas.

All right, I have my engine, Remote2D, up and running and I have a very basic main menu of You only get (the xbox) one (for christmas):

“You only get one.”  Hah, sounds pretty boring.  I mean, how far can you extrapolate it?  One bullet.  One life.  One level… etc. etc. etc.  But then I realized.

It’s right around christmas, and the XBOX ONE just came out!

So, my game will be entitled: “You only get (the xbox) one (for christmas)” Honestly I think it will be hilarious.  Anyway, time to get to work!  I am currently building my engine and getting a simple title screen up and running.  Then I am going to throw some basic art and component code, and post what I have (hopefully) then.

Well, I’m either going to fail immensely on all levels, or make a pretty good game.  Either way, it’s shaping up to be a fun weekend.  I am planning on using Java, and my open source engine Remote2D.  You can check that engine out at http://github.com/flafla2/Remote2D
